Mia Mancino
is a senior at Toms River High school North and is ecstatic about this year's production of The Lightning Theif: The Percy Jackson Musical. Mia has been involved in Toms River North Nautical Stars for all four years of her high school career. She has always been on the building and painting crew. Her love for backstage and stage managing further evolved into pursuing stage management opportunities at her town's local theater company. Mia is the Vice President of Troupe #7455 and loves giving time to her community. Mia spends her free time at Toms River Exit 82 theater company in downtown Toms River. She loves spending time with the children and sharing her love for theatre, set design, and building with the backstage crew class. Mia has worked with all the wonderful cast, crew, and production staff over the past few months and is excited to see the show come to life. These past four years have been some of the best moments of her life, and she could not imagine a better way to end a great senior year than with a wonderful show and her friends by her side.

This is Yazmin’s first show the Nautical Stars Stage and plans to do it again her senior year. Yazmin is very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be apart of a welcoming cast and crew. Sophie Regenye
is a senior here at High School North, and this is her fourth musical with the North Nautical Stars. Sophie is currently Vice President of the Nautical Stars Theatre Company, has worked as Student Assistant Director throughout the past few months on this show, and serves as a New Jersey State Thespian Officer. In recent years, Sophie has been involved in many North Nautical Stars performances, such as Shrek The Musical (Fairy Godmother), A Killer Party (Ensemble), Matilda the Musical (Miss. Honey), Extreme Theatre 2022 (Production Assistant), and she has been in numerous productions with Exit 82 Theatre Company in Downtown Toms River. Sophie is so grateful for the incredible four years she’s had with the Nautical Stars family, and is so incredibly proud of all the hard work everyone has put into the show this year!

is a senior at Toms River High School North, completing her fourth and final musical with the Nautical Stars. Previously, Jenna was a part of the productions of Shrek (2020), A Killer Party (2021), and Matilda (2022). Outside of school, Jenna has been dancing for over 10 years. She is thrilled to be a part of this year's production of The Lightning Thief, and wants to thank everyone who has come and gone over the last four years for igniting her love of the arts and giving her such a welcoming and supportive community to belong to. The Nautical Stars has been a second home and moving on is going to be so difficult, but she is excited to see where life goes from here! No matter what, theater has been an unforgettable experience and this feeling is bittersweet.

Angelina Amato
is a senior here at Toms River High School North. She has participated in every North Nautical Stars production since her freshman year and has loved every second of it. Some of her previous shows with the Nautical Stars include A Killer Party (Joan McArthur), Matilda the Musical (Doctor, Rudolpho, Sergei, Student Assistant Director), and Xtreme Theatre 2022 (Student Advisor). Angie is also President of Thespian Troupe #7455. She is currently serving as Co-Chair for the State Thespian Officer Board and is a member of the International Thespian Student Leadership Council. Angie loves volunteering at her church and at Exit82 Theatre Company, where she is currently music directing for Spongebob the Musical and was in Carrie the Musical (Chris Hargansen). Dr. Michael Penna
is very excited to be working on his first production here at Toms River High School North. Dr. Penna has a BFA in Musical Theater from Syracuse University, MA in Theater from Montclair State University, MPhil in Education from Walden University and a PhD in Education from Walden University. Dr. Penna teaches Theatre in the Arts Academy here at Toms River High School North. Dr. Penna has over 25 years of experience in the Theatrical Arts. Dr. Penna has worked professionally on Broadway, National Tours, and Regional Theaters throughout the country. Dr. Penna is proud member of the Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. Dr. Penna is a Council Board Member on the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a State Board Member for The New Jersey International Thespian Society and a Board Member for the National English Honor Society. Dr. Penna was the recipient of the 2022 NJ State Teen Arts: Educator of the Year Award, the 2022 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award: for Outstanding Educator, the 2022 Monmouth Arts: Arts Education Award, the 2022 International Thespian Society: Inspirational Theatre Educator Award, the 2019 Montclair State University Foxy Award for Excellence in Theater Education and the 2018 Basie Award for Best Lighting Design of a Drama. Dr. Penna would like to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work and dedication and the administration for putting such trust in us all. Lastly, he would like to thank his amazing production staff for all that they do.
Musical Director
George Powers
is thrilled to be musical directing his fourteenth show at High School North. Mr. Powers has a Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree from Glassboro State College. Mr. Powers teaches Music Theory, AP Music Theory, Piano, Music Computing and Band here at North, and is the current 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year. Prior to coming to North he spent 22 years as Musical Director at Red Bank Catholic High School. Professionally, Mr. Powers was Musical Director of the Monmouth County Parks System Summer Theatre for 16 years. He also Musical Directed a number of shows for Phoenix Productions at the Count Basie Theatre. As a musician, Mr. Powers has also performed in many pit orchestras throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties as a keyboardist and a woodwind specialist. Away from school and theatre, Mr. Powers can be found at local establishments as the saxophonist and horn arranger for the local band “We’ll Be Fine.” Mr. Powers would like to thank Dr. Penna and the rest of the production staff, as well as the students involved in music and theatre arts for allowing him to be him.

is an English teacher at Toms River High School North and is so happy to be back on staff for The Lightning Thief! This is Ms. Eleneski's second show with the Nautical Stars Theatre Company; she was proud to also serve as assistant director for last year's production of Matilda. Ms. Eleneski is so honored to get to work with such an amazingly talented cast and crew. She would like to thank Andrew and Yaz for being the best family anyone could ask for, all the cast and crew kids for always making her days brighter, and her fellow staff for being the best team in the world. She would also like to thank our local Starbucks baristas, without whom this production would not be possible.

Danielle Melillo
is a math teacher at High School North and is excited to be back on staff for The Lightning Thief! This is her fourth show with the Nautical Stars Theatre Company. Miss Melillo is grateful to be able to work with so many talented and driven performers! She would like to thank her fiance for always being supportive of Nautical Stars, her colleagues for being an amazing staff, and the cast for working so hard to make the vision of the show come to life!

Frankie Confalone
is excited to be working on his 5th production with Toms River High School North, having previously costumed Matilda, A Killer Party, Shrek, and Pippin! Frankie's costumes have been seen throughout New Jersey working with Exit 82 Theatre Company, the Bordentown Performing Arts Center, Pierrot Productions, and Monmouth Regional High School (2019 Basie Awards Nominee "Outstanding Costume Design for a Drama" for Boeing Boeing). On the stage, Frankie will next be seen as Will in Phoenix Productions' American Idiot. Additionally Frankie serves as Operations Manager for Exit 82 Theatre Company overseeing their "Creative and Performing Arts Academy" and holds a B.A. in Theatre from Rider University.
Scenic Designer and Props Manager
Jenny Neuhoff
has been involved in all aspects of theatre from a young age. She holds a degree in Fashion Design and Theatre from Marist College. Mrs. Neuhoff has professional experience designing and constructing costumes and working as a makeup artist. Mrs. Neuhoff is thrilled to be the creator and teacher of set and costume design classes here at TRN for the first time this year. From 2010-2018 she served as the production designer for the musicals at TRIE. Thank you to the most amazing production staff for all of your support and collaboration!

Zack Bliss
is happy to be here working on his first show with Toms River North. Currently, Mr. Bliss works as a paraprofessional at Lake Riviera Middle School in Brick, and he has been a lighting designer for over a decade. He is also the Technical Director and Resident Lighting Designer of Toms River's very own Exit 82 Theatre Company. Mr. Bliss was recently a nominee for Best Lighting Design of A Play or Musical in the 2022 BroadwayWorld New Jersey Awards for his work on RENT. He is very grateful for his fellow production staff for their endless help and guidance, and he hopes everyone enjoys the show that the cast and crew have put so much work into.

Nicole Tischio
is a teacher at Toms River High School North. This is her second year on the production team as the Hair and Make-up Coordinator. Her first production with the Nautical Stars was Matilda. Ms.Tischio has been in the beauty industry for 10 years and enjoys this new application of her craft! She is grateful to be a part of such a fun production team and wishes to congratulate the cast and crew of The Lightning Thief! Special shout out to her husband and son who will dry her tears and keep her alive through “tech week”!

Gail McNeill
Ms. McNeill, or more fondly known as Ms. Gail, has been a staple with Nautical Stars since (2015). Even before her appointed position, you could always find Ms. Gail helping out, with fundraisers and events. Her own daughter is a Nautical Star alumni (2014-2017) and the connection Ms. Gail has with the student performers is genuine. She's the theatre company's biggest advocate and is a behind the scenes force for their success. A special thank you goes to my student assistant, Mia Mancino, for doing an amazing job.
