The Lightning Thief: A Percy Jackson Musical Cast

Angelina Amato (Percy Jackson)
is a senior here at Toms River High School North. She has participated in every North Nautical Stars production since her freshman year and has loved every second of it. Some of her previous shows with the Nautical Stars include A Killer Party (Joan McArthur), Matilda the Musical (Doctor, Rudolpho, Sergei, Student Assistant Director), and Xtreme Theatre 2022 (Student Advisor). Angie is also President of Thespian Troupe #7455. She is currently serving as Co-Chair for the State Thespian Officer Board and is a member of the International Thespian Student Leadership Council. Angie loves volunteering at her church and at Exit82 Theatre Company, where she is currently music directing for Spongebob the Musical and was in Carrie the Musical (Chris Hargansen). Angie would like to thank her parents for all they do, the musical staff for all of their hard work, and to all of her cast and crew mates, much love.
Alexa Rey (Annabeth Chase)
is a senior here at High School North and has participated in the musical every year. She was seen in ensemble roles in Shrek and A Killer Party, Matilda in Matilda, and is now ecstatic to be playing Annabeth in The Lightning Thief! Alexa is the proud president of the Nautical Star Theater Company and a member of thespian troupe #7455. To her cast and crew she would like to say although "this may be the end but I ain't sad" because you all made this an amazing last show so "bring on the monsters"!! Break legs on that stage, love you all <3.
Lucas Maciel (Grover Underwood)
is a sophomore, is excited to be casted in his 2nd Nautical Stars production. He played Bruce in last year’s show, Matilda. Lucas is part of the Thespian Society and Music Academy, playing saxophone for the Mariner marching, jazz, and concert bands. Outside of school, he sings for Applaud Our Kids foundation and church choir. He hopes everyone, BrAAAAAkes
Delaney Koovits (Luke Castellan)
is a junior at Toms River High School North and is more than excited to participate in The Lightning Thief. This is Delaney’s second show on the TRN stage and is so happy to be a part of this theater family.
Madison McPhee (Clarisse)
is a sophomore at Toms River High School North who is thrilled to be part of this year's production of "The Lightning Thief". This is Madison's second show with the Nautical stars. Madison has been seen in The Addams Family as Grandma Adams, Anything Goes as an Angel, The Lion King as Rafiki, Into the Woods as Cinderella, and Matilda as Lavender. Madison is part of Thespian troupe #7455 and the social media coordinator for the Nautical Stars. Madison is ecstatic to be able to perform with her castmates and wants to give a special thanks to her loved ones for all of their support and to the teachers who made this show possible.
Jared Rand (Mr. Brunner AKA Chiron/Kronos)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is extremely excited to be performing in The Lightning Thief! This is Jared’s 1st show on the Nautical Stars Stage. Jared is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful cast. He would like to thank the hard work being put in by the main cast, ensemble, and stage crew, each all pulling their weight to work together and make the show what it is today. He would also like to thank Dr. Penna for truly giving him the inspiration needed to stand up on stage confidently.
Jose Padilla (Mr. D)
is a sophomore at TRN and is very excited to be joining the Nautical Stars in his 2nd musical production! He previously was in Matilda (Michael Wormwood/Eric [Little Kid]) and has been involved in most theatre events at TRN since his freshman year. He wants to thank his family and friends, along with the theatre company, for their support along the way.
Vivianna Onofrietti (Sally Jackson)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is so excited to be a part of The Lightning Thief! This is Vivianna’s fourth and last year with the Nautical Stars Theatre Company and she is so grateful for the years filled with unforgettable memories. Vivianna has also been a part of TRNs production of Shrek (guard, dragon puppet, happy people ensemble), A Killer Party (ensemble), and Matilda (Mom #1, Henchman, Kid Ensemble). She has been a member of the Thespian Society for three years and has taken on the role of Historian for two years for North’s Thespian Eboard. Vivianna is also a proud member of the CHAOS Theater Company and has been doing productions with them for two years. She would like to thank her friends and family for always believing in her dreams. Vivianna will be going off to college with a double major to be able to continue studying theater and acting, while beginning a future career in law.
Sophie Regenye (Silena Beauregard/Janis Joplin/Thalia)
is a senior here at High School North, and this is her fourth musical with the North Nautical Stars. Sophie is currently Vice President of the Nautical Stars Theatre Company, has worked as Student Assistant Director throughout the past few months on this show, and serves as a New Jersey State Thespian Officer. In recent years, Sophie has been involved in many North Nautical Stars performances, such as Shrek The Musical (Fairy Godmother), A Killer Party (Ensemble), Matilda the Musical (Miss. Honey), Extreme Theatre 2022 (Production Assistant), and she has been in numerous productions with Exit 82 Theatre Company in Downtown Toms River. Sophie is so grateful for the incredible four years she’s had with the Nautical Stars family, and is so incredibly proud of all the hard work everyone has put into the show this year!
Kayla Fredericks (Katie Gardner/DOA Dancer)
is a Junior at High School North, and is thrilled to be a part of her second show with TRN Nautical Stars. Kayla is a dual enrolled in the Dance and Music academies at TRN. She is involved in TRN Cheer, Fashion Club, and an active TEAM member. Kayla has previously been in Little Shop of Horrors (Ensemble), Freaky Friday (Gretchen), and most recently Matilda (Children's entertainer & Scary Big Kid). Break a leg to everyone who made the Lightning Thief come together!
Kiley Madigan (Mrs. Dodds/Squirrel/Ensemble)
is a senior here at High School North and this will be her second show with the company! Kiley is so proud of how hard everyone in the company has worked to put on this year’s show. Kiley would like to thank her friends and family for supporting in every possible way, and a special thank you to her dad for standing by her side and being the strength she needs to power through life! Kiley is sad to be graduating this year but lucky to have such amazing memories with the play and can’t wait for the next chapter!! “I am the one thing I can control, I am inimitable, I am an original.”-Aaron Burr, Hamilton.
Zachary Menth (Ares/Ensemble)
is a freshman at TRHSN and cannot wait to perform his first show with Nautical Stars. In the past he was Jack Kelly (Newsies) and Kristoff (Frozen). He is also the assistant playbill designer. He would like to thank his directors and of course his upperclassmen for their continuous support.
Libbie Diamond (Hades/Newscaster/Ensemble)
is a junior and member of the Theatre Arts Academy and Visual Arts Academy. She is excited to be a part of The Lightning Thief. This is her second show on the Nautical Stars stage. Libbie was previously in Matilda The Musical (Ensemble/Google Translate) and is excited to continue to be a part of the Nautical Stars family.
Daniel Kappock (Gabe Ugliano/Train Conductor/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is excited for his first and only show as a Nautical Star. Dan is incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to join along in this production, and is glad to have met so many new amazing people. He would like to thank his friends for getting him involved and his family for supporting him. He hopes you enjoy our production of The Lightning Thief!
Christina McMurray (Charon/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is extremely excited to be performing in The Lightning Thief! This is Christina’s 3rd show on the Nautical Stars Stage. She’s been in productions of Shrek (Queen Lillian and Blind Mouse) and A Killer Party (Ensemble). Christina is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful cast with the most amazingly talented people ever. She would like to thank her mom, sister, and god mother for their continual support, her cast mates for their camaraderie and their kindness, the wonderful production staff and crew for all they do, and Dr. Penna for giving her this incredible opportunity and for letting her be herself. With this being the last performance of her high school career, she is going to put her all into it, have fun, and make memories while the time passes. She is definitely going to miss everyone as she moves on with her life, but she loves every moment she spends with everyone that’s a part of the cast and crew.
Isabella Sabo (Aunty Em/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is delighted to be a part of The Lightning Thief's wonderful cast! This is her second show on the Nautical Stars stage. She has also been in the cast of Matilda (ensemble). She would like to thank her friends and family for their overwhelming support and the cast, crew, and directors of this year's production for making this show and the entirety of its production an enjoyable and enlightening time that she will never forget!
Darlene Penn (The Oracle/Ensemble)
is a freshman at Toms River High School North and is honored to be performing The Lightning Thief! Darlene is thrilled to be able to perform on a stage for the first time. They’d like to thank their cast members for always making them feel welcome, the production staff that made all of this possible and Dr. Penna for being the best director ever.
Bailey Terrett (Poseidon/Ensemble)
is a sophomore here at North. This is Bailey's second show here, previously seen in Matilda (Ensemble.) Bailey is a thespian and theater academy student. She is so excited to be a part of the show, and to be welcomed by such a great cast. Bailey would like to thank her family for always showing up, regardless of what it may be.
Kelly Nide (Bianca/Ensemble)
is a sophomore at Toms River High School North and is excited to be performing in this year’s musical! Kelly was an Actor/Head Choreographer in Extreme Theater and is also a member of Thespian Troupe #7455. In addition to the Nautical Stars, Kelly is involved in clubs such as Student Council (Treasurer), Yearbook Crew (Sports Editor), and many more! Kelly would like to thank her family, friends, and the entire cast and crew for all of their love and support!
Saniya Williams (Echidna/Greyhound Passenger 2/Ensemble)
is a sophomore here at Toms River High School North and is excited to be a part of this year's production of The Lightning Thief! She has performed in one other Nautical Stars production: Matilda (Amanda Thripp). She would like to thank her family, as well as the cast and crew for their support and encouragement.
Sarah Nuber (Farmer/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is so incredibly excited for her fourth and final show. She has performed in the Nautical Stars Productions of Shrek (Duloc Guard / ensemble), A Killer Party (ensemble), and Matilda (little kid ensemble). Sarah is beyond grateful for the memories she has made over the years, and is so glad to have met some of her best friends through the theatre company. While it is bittersweet, she is confident that her last show will be unforgettable and she hopes that you enjoy it as much as she does!
Emma York (Greyhound Passenger 1/Ensemble)
is a sophomore at Toms River High School North and is so excited to be a part of the production of The Lightning Thief! This is her first show on the Nautical Stars Stage. She would like to thank her family for their immense support and all the cast and crew for being like a second family.
Destiny Franceschini (Kurt Kobain/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North and is so excited to be performing In The Lightning Thief this year! This is their 4th performance on the Nautical Stars Stage. They’ve been in productions such as Shrek:The Musical (Elf), Extreme Theatre 2022 (Head Writer, Carl), And was a part of Matilda (Playbill Designer, Build and Paint Crew). Destiny is a part of the Theatre Arts Academy and is so happy to have had the opportunity to learn and grow as a performer these last 4 years. As they go off into the world, they would like to show their appreciation towards their family, their cast mates, and the wonderful friends that they’ve made during their time here. They extend their thanks towards their teachers for always pushing them to do their best and helping to make great memories along the way.
Lance Beverette Jr. (James Brown/Ensemble)
is a freshman at Toms River High School North and is very excited to be performing in The Lightning Thief! This is his first show on the Nautical Stars Stage. He is so grateful and honored for the opportunity to be a part of such a fantastic cast. Kara Kube (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Ensemble)
is a sophomore and this is her second show with North Nautical Stars. She is so excited for everyone to see The Lightning Thief. Some of her favorite roles include The Addams Family (Grandma Addams), Matilda (Little kid), and Oliver (Charley Bates). Kara would like to thank her amazing cast mates, crew, all the production staff, and Dr. Penna!
Joey Beatty (DJ Cerberus/Ensemble)
is performing in his first show on stage. Last year he worked on Matilda as a member of the tech crew and build and paint crews. He enjoys all art forms but specifically music and spends his time outdoors when he can.
Jenna Shannon (DOA Dancer/Ensemble)
is a senior at Toms River High School North, completing her fourth and final musical with the Nautical Stars. Previously, Jenna was a part of the productions of Shrek (2020), A Killer Party (2021), and Matilda (2022). Outside of school, Jenna has been dancing for over 10 years. She is thrilled to be a part of this year's production of The Lightning Thief, and wants to thank everyone who has come and gone over the last four years for igniting her love of the arts and giving her such a welcoming and supportive community to belong to. The Nautical Stars has been a second home and moving on is going to be so difficult, but she is excited to see where life goes from here! No matter what, theater has been an unforgettable experience and this feeling is bittersweet.
Hannah Kemp (Ensemble)
is a junior at Toms River High School North and is extremely excited to be performing in The Lightning Thief! This is Hannah’s 1st show on the Nautical Stars Stage. She has been in the production of Legally Blonde (Elle’s Mom/Ensemble) at Toms River High School East. Hannah is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful cast and to be accepted into an amazing environment. She has formed unbreakable bonds with the cast and crew of this production as it has come together. She would like to thank her family for the constant support, her cast mates and the production staff for their hard work and kindness, and Dr. Penna for giving her this incredible opportunity and for being so encouraging every step of the way.

is a junior in Toms River High School North who’s an ensemble in this year’s The Lightning Thief 2023. She’s performed in different productions as an ensemble in previous years such as, Hairspray, etc. She is very grateful for the opportunity she has been given by Dr. Penna in this show and hope to work with him and the team in the future.
Peyton Mendes (Ensemble)
is a freshman at Toms River High School North and is so excited to be in this year's play The Lightning Thief. This is her first show on the Nautical stars stage, she has been in her middle school show Wizard Of Oz at Intermediate East. She is so grateful to be a part of the Toms River North Theater Academy and to be a part of the play. She would like to thank her family for supporting everything she does and would like to thank the plays cast and crew for making the play a very welcoming environment.she is so happy that this is her first play at High School North.

Betania Esparza (Ensemble)
is in ninth grade and is glad she was able to be a part of this. She had a lot of fun and she has made a lot of friends and memories. She was kind of nervous because this is the first time she has been on stage and not just in the crew. She would like to thank the cast, crew and directors for everything they do.
Brianna Fredella (Ensemble)
is a freshman at HSN and is working hard to perform in the Lightning Thief! This is her first show in the nautical stars stage. Bri would like to thank her boyfriend, friends, and family for making her keep believing in herself.
