About Maple and Vine

We are so very thrilled to present this production of Maple and Vine by Jordan Harrison with members of this cast. They have waited 4 years to perform this unique play as it was originally set to go up in March of 2020 but of course the universe had other plans. The Artist's Collective is about allowing those who have dream projects to hit the stage. We are so very pleased to support this dream for Bethany Hidden (Ellen) and Connor Dick (Roger). We look forward to having you all experience this truly fun, whimsical, poignant, crazy, heartbreaking, surprising show:

Katha and Ryu have become allergic to their 21st-century lives. After they meet a charismatic man from a community of 1950s re-enactors, they forsake cell phones and sushi for cigarettes and Tupperware parties. In this compulsively authentic world, Katha and Ryu are surprised by what their new neighbors - and they themselves - are willing to sacrifice for happiness.

*There is NO LIVE STREAM available for this production at this time.

“Maple and Vine” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

MISSION:

Picture

2023/24 will be the 12th year for EMH Productions to bring thought provoking, intimate and unique stories to life. EMH Productions supports the art of teaching, acting, directing, producing and writing through live theatre productions, film, TV and casting.  The mission is to provide an arena that artists in this industry can network, grow their craft and find support to achieve their goals. Bring me your dream project as a producer, writer, director or actor or a class you want to teach and let's see what we can do together to bring it to fruition!  Success awaits!

Join the newest venture from EMH, The Artist's Collective. This is a wonderfully talented group of professional artists who are working towards their individual dreams, while lending support to one another along the way. It is home to The Writer's Room, where local playwrights and screenwriters meet up to share their work, get constructive feedback and become produced for the stage or screen.

ELISE MARIE HODGE - EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR of EMH:
I started EMH as a casting director workshop company in LA, to help my fellow actors make
connections and grow in this business. It has grown into a way for me to produce, direct and act in   this multi-faceted industry. It also evolved into a way to promote my own work as well as those I want to work with. I have grown into taking on film, casting projects, and did some fun little web shows on a shoestring budget. Through all this, I take those with me who truly want to be actors, directors, producers and writers, whatever your desire in this business. I have a drive and if you show me you do too, I am happy to provide avenues of support to help you attain your goals.

In every production, as the executive creative director, I look to bring in new and aspiring directors, actors or writers to showcase their talents, to be a stepping stone in their career path as an artist in this creative community. I select material based on its social impact, its essential message that I believe will either move people, test their beliefs, or simply make them laugh.  Stories have always been my passion, as I believe only through story telling do we truly find ways to reach out to one another, to touch each other on a human level.
