Nevermore! Edgar Allen Poe, the Final Mystery Creative

Producer/Director
Charles A. Wax
Charles A. Wax celebrates 30 years of working in Richmond Theatre this year. In that time, he has worked with Henrico Theatre Company, Dogwood Dell, and CAT, among others. Some favorite roles in that time include Fred Gaily in Miracle on 34th Street and Basil in CAT’s production of The Diviners. His longest-running role continues to be as teacher and director for the Atlee High School Raider Players, a role he has played for over 20 years. He has directed well over 60 productions for CAT, OTARP, and the Raider Players. Last year, he was honored to be named to Virginia Theatre Association’s inaugural class of Certified Master Teachers. Charles also currently serves as president of CAT’s Board of Directors. He is eternally grateful for the love, support, and understanding of Sandra, who allows him to wear all these hats.
Director
Jon Piper
Jon Piper is thrilled to be co-directing “Nevermore! Edgar Allan Poe, The Final Mystery” with Charles Wax. He most recently appeared as an actor in River City Theatre’s production of “Making God Laugh” in March 2020. Professionally, he has played Scotty in “Ripcord” at Chamberlayne Actors Theatre and has acted and directed for the Red Eye 10s Festival. Most of his directing experience is as a Middle School director in Chesterfield County. When not on the stage, he is a Middle School History teacher, soccer and baseball coach. Jon would like to thank his wonderful wife, Lisa, and their son, Anders, for allowing him the time to participate in this production.
Stage Manager
Sue Howells
Sue Howells is so very happy to be back at CAT having done many productions with them since her first one in 1981. She would like to thank two high school teachers – the first being Ted Boelt, who, back in 1972 recognized that backstage was a better use of her time than on stage, and the countless shows and theatres since then. And to Charles Wax for trusting her with “Nevermore” and this wonderful cast and crew. She is excited to be working with friends old and new. She would like to thank Charles and Jon for this opportunity and Drake for always being prepared. She would also like to thank all the friends who are excited to hear her say “I can’t, I have rehearsal” again. And, always, to Mary for her love and support for all these years of rehearsals and performances.
Assistant Stage Manager
Drake Leskowyak
This is Drake Leskowyak’s 6th production that he has participated in, however, this is his first time being an assistant stage manager. He is super excited to be working with Chamberlayne Actors Theatre and hopes you enjoy the show!
