Welcome to the 2023 Season of Dreams from EMH Productions and The Artist's Collective! We are thrilled to be presenting a host of eccentric, moving, humorous, evocative, memorable, heartfelt plays by local playwrights in Sacramento, CA as well as some published plays. Our shows are all in person as well as live streamed from The Ooley Theatre. For tickets to shows, please scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the photo of the show you wish to attend.

We have our theatre series continuing this year, Matters of Life & Death featuring one of our local writer's shorts plays each month and an interview with the writer! Along with this are our monthly shows of full length plays that highlight local directors and actors in these entertaining pieces of work.

Our Season of Dreams is based on the sets of pieces being performed, as they are each a show or event that is making a dream come true for our local Artists. Each show has special meaning to the writer, director, actor or producer of the piece. For example, our headliner Constellations has long been in the works by Director Maggie Upton, who found herself thwarted not once, but 3 times by COVID over the last 3 years to get this play on the stage. She is 82, but almost didn't make it that far, due to her health where 4 years ago she was gravely ill. She was down in San Diego getting treatment when she saw this play, and then read it. This play was the piece of art that got her back on her feet and fed her soul to keep her going and now be as indomitable as ever. We are thrilled to have her realize this play at The Oooley Theatre.

Next up will be Shirley Valentine, a recent dream of mine! I had always loved the film, and somehow had missed it was a play so when I discovered this only in November last year, I knew I had to do it.

March will feature memorable scenes, songs and moments from works our local actors are preparing as a dream moment for them along with a celebrity performance by AGT Winner Brandon Leake!

April will feature local playwright Scott Charles with a hard edged and gritty, intelligent piece that has all the drama of money and greed but a little bit of the heart of Pretty Woman as his leading lady tries to overcome the stigma of having been a high priced call girl in a world of high end stakes over real estate.

May will bring us a one act festival of our Artist's Collective Playwrights featuring local directors, actors and designers!

Shows will be added throughout the year so keep watching as we add to our line-up! The Ooley Theatre is located in midtown Sacramento at 2007 28th Street. Corner of T and 28th.
