Nunsense at Kona Elks Lodge - Kona Cast
Abigail Hobbs (Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior)Abi is pleased to be returning to the WCT stage for Nunsense, a show she first "met" when she was an usher for a production in the late 80s in her best Catholic school plaid skirt and white blouse. She's previously performed with WCT in Steel Magnolias, The Drowsy Chaperone, and The Sunshine Boys, and she directed Pippin. She can often be spotted around Honoka'a with her husband Sam (King Arthur in WCT's Spamalot) and son Sam (who, as a self-proclaimed "dance kid" was very excited to be on the stage during rehearsals). She hopes you'll find Nunsense as habit-forming as she did as a kid!
Rachel Klein (Sister Mary Hubert)Rachel is a long-time theatre performer, director and choreographer from the Big Island, who now serves as the president of the Hilo Community Players. She was last seen on stage in HCP’s 2019 musical BARE. She is currently directing THE LAST FIVE YEARS at UH Hilo, and helping organize the county’s upcoming Arts Summit. When not being a theatre nun, Rachel is a private practice physician in Hilo, specializing in neurology. She would like to thank the excellent artistic team and the board of WCT for bringing such a fun show to production!
Mele Embernate (Sister Robert Anne)Mele Francine is a Honokaa grown girl through and through. A Digital Media Art Major in which she wrote and acted in a few students films. This is her first time involved with the WCT and is eager to have her stage debut in Nunsense. She wishes to express gratitude to her friends and family for their constant love and encouragement.
Hannah Kaplon (Sister Mary Amnesia)Hannah is a Honokaa-raised professional singer/songwriter who enjoys all forms of performing arts, including dance and acting. She was involved in WCT’s production of The Drowsy Chaperone in 2017, and has been on the stage in various ways ever since she could talk! She is so excited to perform in another musical for WCT and hopes everyone laughs, feels something, and goes away feeling enriched from this production of Nunsense.
Hanner Harsh (Sister Mary Leo)Hanner is a WCT veteran since 2015. She feels very grateful to be on the stage again for the first time after her performance in Picasso at The Lapin Agile
