Jonathan Rushbrook (He/Him)
Jonathan became a part of The New School of Northern Virginia in 2015, assuming the role of Artistic Director in 2019. Throughout his tenure, he takes pride in fostering the empowerment of students both on and off the stage. The school achieved notable success with the previous year's rendition of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie," and Jonathan commends the dedication students have exhibited in preparing for Michael Hollinger's "Red Herring." He eagerly anticipates the audience's enjoyment of the show, mirroring the enthusiasm and effort invested by the cast and crew.

Bluejay Sipe (He/They)
Bluejay is in eleventh grade. This is their third time participating in the school play, and their first time acting as stage manager! Previously they have acted in "The Alibis" (Warwick) and "The Glass Menagerie" (Tom). They are very excited to present the play!

Matilda ‘Moss’ O’Sullivan (They/Them)
Matilda is excited to step their toes into costuming for "Red Herring." They’re also working on a silent edition of "Romeo and Juliet" with Synetic Theater’s Teen Company. Show dates are April 3rd through 7th and tickets can be bought at synetictheater.org. Matilda has had nine years of classical ballet training, participated in twenty theatrical productions, completed eight theater-related courses, and received the award for best one-liner in the Greater Washington Middle School Theatre Festival. Matilda would like to thank their cat, Tashi, for helping them brainstorm costumes.

Mollymauk Alkadiri (He/They)
Mollymauk is very excited to be part of the crew for "Red Herring." Mollymauk has some experience and is excited to work with such an amazing set of people. He likes to read, write, and play with his cats. If you see some blue crutches lying around, they are probably his. They would like to thank their cat, Potato, for sitting with him late at night while designing, and his grandfather for being the one to get him into architecture.

Asa Shackleton Duckworth (He/Him)
Asa is working on the costumes for The New School's performance of "Red Herring." He is in ninth grade. He acted in "10 Ways to Survive the End of the World" in seventh grade. He loves history and enjoys making/reading stories/art. Have a nice day.

Libby Miller (She/Her)
Libby is a sophomore at The New School and this is her second time doing makeup and her first time doing hair. She hasn’t done much hair and makeup in or outside of school, but finds it fun and a good experience. In her free time, she loves playing volleyball, watching movies, and listening to music. She would like to thank Jonathan for the amount of work he has put into this show to make it happen, as well as her friends and family for supporting her role in the show.

Mary Doebel
Mary Doebel is a professional stage manager and aspiring director. She is a proud graduate of The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts with a diploma and advanced certificate in acting. Mary has stage-managed and assistant stage-managed shows at Keegan Theatre, including "An Irish Carol," "Yoga Play," and "The Outsider." Mary has also been an understudy for "An Irish Carol" (Anna), and "The Outsider" (Louise, Rachel). She has also worked with Solas Nua on shows including "Maz and Bricks," "The Playboy of the Western World" and "The Humours of Bandon." Mary attended The New School of Northern Virginia from 2015-2018 and she's excited to be helping out with this year's production of The Red Herring.

Alexis Robinson (She/Her)
Alexis graduated from The New School and currently is studying Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. Alexis designed the poster, banner, and other printables. During her time at The New School, Alexis worked as performer and designer for "10 Out of 12," "The Alibis," and "The Glass Menagerie."

Sofie Strompf (She/Her)
Sofie is an alum of The New School. She is now in her second year at George Mason University, where she is studying Biology. She loves how creativity translates from her proteomics research to her work in theatre tech. She is very excited to be asked back to help support the Theatre department for this year's spring performance.

Andres Ostria
Andres recently joined the The New School of Northern Virginia in 2023, joining the Foreign Language Department as the Sign Language Instructor. He enjoys participating in everything sign language including interpretation. He looks forward to interpreting for the show and providing access for anyone who needs ASL interpretation.

Luke Simek
I have been taking ASL for three years now. Senior year has been stressful but good. With taking ASL I was exposed to Deaf culture and the topic of language deprivation interests me. Luke also plays D&D for fun.
