Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence...and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her school teacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Matilda was first commissioned and produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and premiered at The Courtyard Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, England on 9 November 2010. It transferred to the Cambridge Theatre in the West End of London on 25 October 2011 and received its US premiere at the Shubert Theatre, Broadway, USA on 4 March 2013.

The Bayshore School is a PK-8 serving the Bayshore Communities of Daly City and Brisbane. Bayshore has an ethnically diverse population of students who live within walking distance of the school. Bayshore has a dedicated teaching staff, supportive parents, a small community feeling, and a wealth of school spirit.

Bayshore Visual & Performing Arts is a thriving department of The Bayshore School headed by Mr. Marcus Dyson. We support the students in developing their theater skills and focus on building good character on and off stage! We pride ourselves in teaching each student Dance, Acting, and Singing. In addition, we offer our students opportunities to take part in Set Design, Lighting Design, Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, and Managerial Arts. Our program is supported by the wonderful Administrators and Staff at The Bayshore School, The Bayshore PTO, and our incredible community of families! We are forever grateful for their support!
