10 Minute Play Festival Cast

Edith Mustavs (Ethel)
Edie Mustavs, a Sullivan County native, first appeared with the Sullivan County Dramatic workshop in 2021 in the 10 minute play festival. Over the past few years she appeared in several plays to include Cemetery Stories, Grandpa, Grapevine Cuttings, and Barren Landscape receiving a TANYS award for acting in Barren Landscape. She has definitely caught the “theatre bug” and has eagerly returned to the stage in this year’s play festival. Thank you to SCDW for the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream!
Jill Baumander (Susan, Amy, Fairy, )
Jill is a tenth grade honors student at Liberty High School. She enjoys playing violin in the honors orchestra and has performed at the All-County Music Festival as well as NYSSMA. She is also a member of the Liberty varsity track team and photography club. Jill’s theater work has included various children’s theater programs with the Nesin Center and Bethel Woods. More recently, she has been active in several productions with SCDW including Alice in Wonderland, Haunted Theater and the 2023 SCDW Holiday Show. Most recently, Jill portrayed Tilly in the SCDW production of She Kills Monsters, and Glinda in the musical The Wizard of Oz, her biggest roles yet! Jill is excited to act in 3 of this season’s 10 Minute Plays.
Joaquin Isler (Genie, Andrew)
Joaquin Isler, originally from Chile, has been living in Sullivan County for three years. He has performed at the Rivoli Theatre in productions such as Blithe Spirit, She Kills Monsters, and The Wizard of Oz. Joaquin is excited to continue his journey with the Rivoli and looks forward to many more performances.
Harold Tighe (Dallas)
Harold has been part of the workshop for twenty plus years. In that time he's done just about everything from sweeping the stage to building the sets to directing to taking out the garbage, and much more. Currently serving as the Workshop's treasurer, some of his favorite roles include both Tevye and Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof, Bap- tiste in The Taming of the Shrew, Inspector Herne in Witness for the Prosecution (Forestburgh Playhouse), Senator Wingwoh in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Forestburgh Playhouse, op- posite Loretta Swit), and Selsdon in Noises Off. Many thanks to the cast and crew of Wizard of Oz for letting him be part of this delightful production. All my love to Lillian and her tolerance of all my nonsense for all these years.
Amber Schmidt (Lucia, Melanie's Phone)
Amber is the current Secretary and Executive Stage Manager and has been with the SCDW for 21 years both onstage and backstage. Her favorites include Postmortem, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Nevermore, and most recently, The Ripple Effect. She would like to thank the cast and crew, especially Lourdesa, for their talents and patience as they navigated this new format.
Charlie Redler (Man, Bert)
Charlie has been acting most of his life in community and local professional theater and as a history teacher for 28 years. His favorite roles are Mel in Prisoner of 2nd Ave; Larry the Liquidator in Other Peoples Money; Capt. Keller in The Miracle Worker. Charlie directed for a dozen years at the University School H.S. at NSU in Florida such plays as “The Crucible, Diary of Anne Frank, Pride and Prejudice and many more. He directed Josh Gad for four years. He has also directed for Curtain Call theater: And Then There Was One and Dial M for Murder. He is grateful to the SCDW community for this opportunity!
Lourdesa Hunt (Woman, Meredith)
Lourdesa made her SCDW debut as the ‘Bakers Wife’ in "Into the Woods". She received the TANYS Award for Excellence in Acting for her performance as ‘Elizabeth’ in 2021's "Young Frankenstein: the Musical", and portrayed Widow Corney in "Oliver!". A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley and graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Lourdesa has performed in numerous productions around the area including "Little Shop Of Horrors", "Sweeney Todd", "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Jesus Christ Superstar". Some of her favorite roles include Hope Cladwell in "Urinetown," Irene Roth in "Crazy For You", and Anne Egerman in "A Little Night Music". In addition to local productions, she has studied and performed abroad with Centro Studi Lirica Operatic troupe in Novafeltria, Italy, under the direction of Joan Patenaude-Yarnell. Lourdesa would like to thank her husband, Dennis, for being her rock and for all his love and support during the show run (and always).
Kai Colon (Lena, Deidre, Steven, Lada)
Kai made her opening debut at SCDW as “Lillith” in "She Kills Monsters" and followed with "The Wizard of Oz", including an understudy performance as “Dorothy”. She has done multiple shows at her high school, and excited for college this fall. SCDW is very happy to work with this lovely & talented young lady and we are looking forward to seeing her in future shows!
Elise Vargas (Bathroom User)
Elise has performed in various talent shows as a dancer, but working at Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop has been such a great and rewarding experience. She has had roles in Simply Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Oliver, the 10 Minute Plays 2023, for which she won two TANYS awards, Haunted Theatre, the Holiday Show, multiple roles in She Kills Monsters, and Wizard of Oz. She would like to give a special thanks to the SCDW team—and everyone who has always cheered her on and encouraged her. Sending love to her family for always believing in her.
Tyler Pelays (Fairy Councilor)
Tyler is 14 years old and attends Tri-Valley Secondary School where he enjoys playing saxophone in the high school jazz band as well as the middle school band and chorus. He was part of the indoor Modified Track Team and TV Modified Baseball team. Tyler has been in school theater and had roles in Tuck Everlasting, Willy Wonka, Alice in Wonderland. He performed earlier this season as “Orcus” in She Kills Monsters and “City Guard” in The Wizard of Oz. He is enjoying his time performing on stage while still finding time to enjoy video games, bike riding and hanging out with friends.
Rosalind Shepherd (God)
Rosalind has performed in She Kills Monsters, and captivated audiences with her prior performances, including her role as Gloria in Wait Until Dark and as an Elf in Santa's Cookie Problem. Rosalind's talent has earned her several TANYS awards for her exceptional per- formances in the SCDW 10 Minute Play Festival 2023 in The Grape Cuttings and Cassette Tape in The Beat Goes On. Beyond acting, Rosalind is a budding artist and musician who loves singing, playing video games, and spending time with her cat. She enjoys creating art through any and all mediums, and her passion for making music is evident in her performances. Rosalind is grateful for the opportunity to bring these fantastical characters to life and thanks her family, friends, and the SCDW community for their unwavering support.
Kaitlyn Weiss (Gabriel, Melanie)
Kaitlyn Weiss is an upcoming freshman and has been involved in music since first grade. Her first role was as Peter Pan in her 3rd grade performance and since then she hasn’t stopped. In 6th grade she performed as Marta VonTrapp in The Sound of Music, and in 7th grade she performed as Jane Banks in Mary Poppins Jr. She ended her middle school career as Rachel in How To Eat Like A Child, and went on to perform all through high school. In 9th grade she played the role of Mira in The Theory of Relativity, and went on to play Meg March in Little Women. Just last year she performed as Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, and will be attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City this upcoming fall, pursuing a career in comedy and acting. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their support and guidance!

Eileen has been on the SCDW Board of Directors since 2005. She has been a Catskill Readers’ Theatre member since 2022. “Kudos to all the volunteerswho make SCDW great! Love you all.”

Peter is most grateful to appear in this fun play and to work with this wonderful cast and talented director. He appears in this production to honor the memory of his dear friend Bunny and as a tribute to his long time friend Ralph. May we cherish each and every day and appreciate our friends and loved ones.

Although Jean was recently on stage as The Wicked Witch/Miss Gulch in our recent production, she has been active behind the scenes in many SCDW shows. Jean enjoys helping Heather with costumes, Jenny with props , Eileen with organizing our costume collection, and Harold with set painting and decoration. She is thankful for the new friends she has made at SCDW and invites those of you interested in any of these activities to join the fun!
Cristobal Isler (Dan)
Cris has acted for many years in his native land of Chile and made his SCDW debut earlier this season in She Kills Monsters. He is excited to be performing this original play. He looks forward to many more years of working with SCDW!
Ava Gwiozdowski (Wanda)
Ava is a passionate artist who has been playing the cello since she was 9 years old and recently got into theatre. Her theatre debut was in her school musical in 6th grade. She has been in Annie Jr. and Matilda Jr. at her school and Oliver and The Wizard of Oz at the SCDW. Ava also participated in the Haunted Theatre. Ava participated in All County in 2023 and has already been selected for it again this school coming school year. Ava participated in NYSSMA in 2023 and 2024 with her instrument where she almost got a perfect score on her solo! Ava is super excited to be in the 10 Minute Play Festival and Haunted Theatre this coming October.
