Mrs. Amy Pumphrey has been the Director of Southside Theatre since 2013 and a teacher in the department since 2010. Mrs. Pumphrey graduated from Southside High School in 2003, where she was heavily involved in Theatre. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications, she returned to her alma mater to share her passion with others. In 2017, Mrs. Pumphrey earned a Masters of Production and Design in Theatre from Southern Oregon University.

Mr. Beau Pumphrey has over 25 years of Fine Arts experience on stage, back stage, and in the technical realm. He has been the Technical Director for Maverick Theatre for 11 years and the Director for Grizzly Theatre for 3 years. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member and the Technical Theatre Coordinator for Arkansas State Thespians and as the Tech Challenge Coordinator for the International Thespian Festival.

Ms. Sami Sue Welch has been the Vocal Director for Southside Theatre since 2000. She recently retired from the Fort Smith Public Schools where she was a National Board Certified Elementary School Music Teacher for many years. Her degree is in vocal music, but she enjoys playing anything except the piano, as they had a traumatic relationship back in the ‘70s. Some of her proudest moments occur when she runs into former students who recognize and remember her, and attribute their lifelong relationship with music to a seed she planted in them many years ago.

Sara is a 2021 graduate of Southside High School and was most recently seen as a Featured dancer in our 2021 production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. She was a Dance Captain for Mamma Mia and choreographer for Oklahoma. She is very excited to come back to White Christmas to bring a new perspective to the choreography! She is currently on staff with the National Cheer Association. Her time with Maverick Theatre has been short, but she has been vital to this process.

Avery is a 2021 graduate of Southside High School and our former Troupe President. She has been a Dance Captain for our 2021 production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and Mamma Mia before stepping into the role of choreographer for Oklahoma. She is so excited to revisit all these dances from one of her favorite shows! She holds the record for number of hours spent working on a show and was also the 2021 recipient of the Vincent Desormeaux Award for Outstanding Dedication to Maverick Theatre.

Makala has appeared as a member of the Ensemble for Mamma Mia, Antigone, and Oklahoma and has worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for A Midsummer Night's Dream. "I would like to thank my family for always being there for me, and the Ps because they have supported and helped me become a better me." Makala would love anything Harry Styles related for Christmas!

Brea has worked as a dresser for Mamma Mia, the Lighting Technician for Antigone, a dresser for Oklahoma, and the Sound Engineer for Our Town. "I would like to thank my friends who have helped me alone the way and helped me become confident in my skills." Brea would love some nice headphones to block out all the haters for Christmas!

Brianna has worked as a stage hand for Mamma Mia, a dresser for Oklahoma, and the Lighting Technician for Our Town. "I would like to thank Everyone involved in the show." Brianna really enjoys getting to do these productions with her friends while making new ones!

Ginny has worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for Mamma Mia, appeared as Ismene in Antigone, worked as the 2nd Audio Engineer for Oklahoma, and appeared as The Holy Ghost in Our Town. "I would like to thank the Stage Managers for being so accommodating, holding me accountable, and being so fun to work with! (Plus an honorable mention to ZooAhEe-Zooiemama-Fabric-Gondola’s mascot “Jerry”)." Ginny would love some historical fashion for Christmas!

Charlee has appeared as a member of the Ensemble for Mamma Mia and Antigone, worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for Oklahoma, the Stage Manager for A Midsummer Night's Dream, and appeared as a member of the Ensemble for Our Town. "I would like to thank the P’s. They are some of the most kind and wonderful people I have ever had the privilege to work with. They make these beautiful shows come to life." Charlee thinks watching the featured dancers has been the most fun, because they are so talented!

Jay has appeared as a member of the Ensemble for Oklahoma, worked as a Stage Hand for A Midsummer Night's Dream, and appeared as Emily Webb in Our Town. "I would like to thank my family and friends for always being supportive of my interests and hobbies- also a big thanks to the P’s for opening all the opportunities for myself and others!" Jay would love snow for Christmas!

Josie has appeared as Ali in Mamma Mia, Antigone in Antigone, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and worked as an Assistant Stage Manager for Our Town. "I would like to thank my parents for always going along with my crazy schedule and being there to support me and encourage my dreams, m sister for being my biggest inspiration in life, and my cats." Her favorite part of working on this show has been being involved in almost everything. She's gotten to know the show inside out, and she truly loves that.

Alina has worked as the Sound Engineer for A Midsummer Night's Dream. "I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. P!" Alina really loves the environment and all the personalities she works with!

Abree is making her debut with Maverick/Grizzly Theatre! "I would like to thank my friend Alina for convincing me to join tech!" Abree would love a good book for Christmas!

Addison is making her debut with Maverick/Grizzly Theatre! "I would like to thank My favorite bossman Mr. P for encouraging me to do what I love." Addison would love a standing bass for Christmas!

Logan is making his debut with Maverick/Grizzly Theatre! "I would like to thank God and everyone who accepted me to join and be a part of this." Logan has most enjoyed building things for this production!

Kevyn is making her debut with Maverick/Grizzly Theatre! "I would like to thank my mom-Jenna Rhude, my grandma-Susie Jones, my sisters, my dad- Tom Rhude, my dear friend-Conly." Working backstage has been Kevyn's favorite part of this production!

Ashley has appeared as Dandelion in A Midsummer Night's Dream. "I would like to thank Both Mr. P and Mrs. P for all of their patience and their hard work because without them we wouldn’t have anyone to handle everything with Maverick and Grizzly Theater and all the plays." Ashley has really enjoyed working on the scene transitions for this production!

Stella has appeared as Spruce in A Midsummer Night's Dream. "I would like to thank the P’s and everyone in Mav and Grizzly Theatre for making it so much fun!" Stella would love some classic books for Christmas!

Jenna is making her debut with Maverick/Grizzly Theatre! "I would like to thank Mrs. P and Mr. P and Charlee Folmar for leading me to join!" Jenna would love a ferret named Draco Malfoy for Christmas!

Lilli has appeared as a member of the Ensemble for Oklahoma and Yew in A Midsummer Night's Dream. "I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. P." Lilli has loved watching this production come together!
