Daniel Patterson (Henry Frank Thaxton)2/23/1874 - 5/14/1935 Moved to McRae from Butts Co. In 1905, started Coca Cola Bottling moving to Helena in 1909 became a Coca Cola distributor. He also was elected mayor in Helena.

2/14/1924 - 8/24/2008 A self taught electrician wired many houses in the area. Known for his white smith and toothpick in his mouth.
Craig Walker (John B., Walker)1896 - 1970 Served in the Army in WWI. In 1932, he was elected the Telfair Co. Sheriff and remained sheriff until 1964. He served his last term in a wheel chair due to spinal injury from a gun shot wound received in 1959.
