Playwright and Director
Ryan BernstenPlays: "Dream Ticket" (Excellence Award, NYFringe), "Novel" (Charlotte Street; KCPublic, upcoming), "The New Order" (KC Horror Festival, Corkscrew Festival, Oxford Dramatic Society), "Atlantic", a coproduction between his alma mater Northwestern University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at Edinburgh Fringe. Ryan is the author of "50 States of Mind: A Journey to Rediscover American Democracy," chronicling his 50-state exploration of political polarization. He's also appeared onstage with The Unicorn and Barn Players. Ryan holds a Creative Writing Master's from Oxford University and is developing a film adaptation of We are Blood. Stage Manager
Ashton BottsAshton is an award-winning actor and director represented by Moxie Talent Agency. She recently served as dramaturg for "What the Constitution Means to Me" at the KCRep and will be directing "A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder" at The White Theatre next March. OCTA credits include "Bright Star" (Alice Murphy), "The Drowsy Chaperone" (Janet Van de Graaff), and "The Curious Savage" (Director). Love and thanks to her favorite, Ryan.
Set Design
Nathan WymanNathan is Professor of Theatre and Director of Jewell Theatre Company at William Jewell College. He has been Technical Director and Stage Designer since 1998, creating designs for more than 50 productions. Past design for OCTA was the Buddy Award winning stage set for "The Curious Savage". He has also designed "The Laramie Project" and "Torch Song Trilogy" at the Arts Asylum, and "Darkness Falls" for Running With Scissors Theatre Company in Hertfordshire, England in 2010.
Lighting Designer
Chuck ClineChuck is excited to be working with this awesome cast and crew for "We Are Blood". This is Chuck's 30th production with OCTA having served as Lighting Designer on recent productions such as: "Kimberly Akimbo"", Murder on the Orient Express", and "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead". Chuck would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew, the soul of Chuck’s inspiration David Addison, and you for making this experience possible. Enjoy the show!
Costume Designer
Brenna McConaugheyBrenna is excited to work on this original project with such a stellar team. Since returning to the area in 2018, Brenna has been an actor, costumer, and stage manager for numerous theater groups. You may have seen her costumes in OCTA's "Sunday in the Park with George" (Buddy Award Winner); in "The Laramie Project" (The Barn Players) or "In the Heights" (TIP-Indoors).
