Director
Mark Mannette
is currently the Director of Theatre here at Newman University where he has directed such productions as Hamlet, Buried Child, and Death by Chocolate. Locally, he has directed shows for the Forum Theatre, Roxy’s Wichita Community Theater, and Music Theatre for Young People. He met his wife, Alice, in a production of Murder at Café Noir. She played Maria, he played Cairo, and the rest is history.

Allison Williams
is a senior at Newman University studying criminal justice and psychology with a minor in theatre. She has been very active in Newman’s theatre department, having been in several shows including A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Inferno. She is excited to take on the challenge of assistant directing and stage managing for Murder at Café Noir and hopes you enjoy putting your own detective skills to the test!

Technical Director
Lucas Farney
Graduated from Newman University’s Theatre program in 2020 and now is back as the technical director. While Lucas remains an actor first and foremost, he loves being involved in the behind the scenes work because it is just as rewarding as being onstage. He worked as the master carpenter for NU’s productions of “Dante’s Inferno” and “Elf: the Musical” as well as the lighting designer for “Come Alive” this last fall and for MADCAP’s production of “Baskerville.”

Catherine Madison
is a sophomore majoring in Elementary Education double minoring in Theatre and Choral music. Catherine graduated from Immanuel Homeschool. She has acted in multiple shows with a homeschool theatre group called Faith Builders Academy. Not only is she very involved in her church’s drama productions since childhood, but she has also directed and trained many children and teens since high school. Besides theatre her passions include gymnastics, cheer, and singing. She looks forward to assisting Allison Williams and managing the props.

Costume Design
Christy Railsback
is delighted to continue designing costumes and teaching at Newman. Recently, she co-designed costumes for the movie "Death Alley," and for the documentary "The Contested Plains," still in production. Christy has received nine Mary Jane Tealle Awards (pius nominations) for Excellence in Costuming for her work in local theatres. She also works wardrobe for touring productions, and has made costumes for Music Theatre Wichita for many years.

Rachel Muirhead
Grew up in Hays, KS and went to Emporia State University where she studied theatre. Rachel loves working at Newman University and is excited to be involved in the arts. Theatre has been a passion of hers for as long as she can remember. Being a part of a theatrical community and working together as a team brings her an immense amount of joy.
