Liz graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Dance and a certificate in K-12 Education. Succeeding graduation, Liz taught dance in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Liz joined the Kinetics Dance Theatre community in 2019 as School Manager and was promoted to Artistic Director in 2020. Liz oversees all programmatic operations for the organization to ensure their alignment with KDT’s vision and mission. In addition, Liz directs Kinetics Dance Company and provides class instruction in Jazz and Contemporary techniques. Liz has been sharing her passion for dance through a multitude of community engagements over the years. She has presented at conferences hosted by the National Dance Education Organization and the Maryland Dance Education Association. She has led master classes for the Regional High School Dance Festival, the Maryland Public High School Dance Showcase, the Maryland Middle School Dance Showcase, and the Maryland Dance Alliance. Liz also teaches at public school dance festivals and facilitates professional development for K-12 dance educators. Liz has performed for Full Circle Dance Company and LucidBeings Dance and her choreography has been showcased in events such as the Baltimore Dance Invitational, the Maryland Council for Dance Professional Artist’s Concert, the Howard Community College Dance Festival, and the 39th Annual Maryland Choreographer’s Showcase. In 2021, Liz completed her M.F.A in Dance from Hollins University. Later that year, Liz was awarded Dance Teacher of the Year - Private Sector by the Maryland Dance Education Association (MDEA). Liz currently serves on the Executive Board for MDEA as Secretary and is focusing her leadership efforts on creating safer dance spaces by studying diversity, equity, & inclusion research within the dance field.
