ADVISORS

Mr. Marc Donovan (Director) earned a B.F.A. in Theatre from Montclair State University, and has spent much of his career performing in theatre, film, television and radio. Film/TV credits include Godfather of Harlem, Boardwalk Empire, Blue Bloods, The Young and the Restless, Zero Hour, All My Children, and The Trust. Before landing in the classroom, Mr. Donovan enjoyed a 4-year run playing the role of Sam Phillips in the Las Vegas production of Million Dollar Quartet, and has treaded the boards at Walnut Street Theatre, People's Light, Ogunquit Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, West Virginia Public Theater, Cider Mill Playhouse, 12 Miles West Theatre Company, The Theater Project and Luna Stage. Mr. Donovan has also appeared in and/or lent his voice to over 40 television and radio commercials. This is Mr. Donovan’s fourth year in Florence Township, offering theatre classes at both FTMHS and Riverfront. Mr. Donovan is married to a fellow educator and the proud papa of two beautiful and extremely spirited young children.

Mr. Steven Obetz (Vocal and Pit Director) earned his B.M. in Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York in 2018. This is his fourth year teaching in Florence Township, where he teaches 7/8th grade music classes, the Cadet Band, the Riverfront Choir, and AP Music Theory. In the fall he also works with the marching band as the Assistant Director. Previously Mr. Obetz has filled the various advisor roles from music to lighting and sound for the FTMHS productions of The Addams Family, Help Desk, and Annie. Mr. Obetz has also been a member of the music content team for Educational Testing Service where he developed the AP Music Theory exam and study materials as well as the music teacher licensing exams for multiple states.

Mr. Travis Breen (Choreography) earned his BFA in Jazz/Theater Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Mr. Breen owns Body Language Dance Center for 15 years in Ewing, NJ. This is his 5th year teaching at Florence teaching dance at both Florence High School and Riverfront. He had choreographed Florence High School productions of Mary Poppins, The Addams Family, Help Desk, and Annie.

Mr. John Dow (Set Construction) earned his B.A. in Technology Education from Millersville University and his M.A. in Technology Education from Ball State University. He has been a Technology Instructor at Florence Township High School for the last 12 years. He currently lives in Bucks County, PA and enjoys DIY projects as well as repurposing old materials to give them new life.

Mrs. Theresa Perri (Scenic Design) earned her B.A. in Graphic Design/Illustration from Trenton State College (now known as TCNJ). This is her 18th production with the Florence Twp. Schools. Recent/Favorite set design credits include: Annie, Help Desk, The Addams Family, Urinetown, Mary Poppins, Beauty & The Beast, and Oklahoma. Thanks to Marc Donovan, Ann Croley, & Lisa Jones for allowing me to create magical worlds through scenery over the years. All my love to my husband and children. To the talented Cast & Crew of ONCE UPON A MATTRESS…..Break A Leg!!!

Mrs. Erika DeWitt (Costumes/Makeup) earned her B.A. and M.A. in English from The College of New Jersey. This is her eighth year teaching English, but her first year returning to FTMHS and to the PAC since her own graduation. She is thrilled to be working with the talented cast of Once Upon a Mattress and is excited to share her love of theater and her extensive experience costuming her two-year-old daughter.

Mr. Austin Brown (Sound & Lighting) earned his B.A in English Education from Rider University in 2019 and is currently enrolled in a M.A for Special Education at The College of New Jersey. This is his second year teaching at Florence. He currently lives in Pennsylvania and enjoys reading and hiking.
