JHops as many call them, has taught, performed, directed, conducted and choreographed productions throughout Michigan and Ohio for the past twenty four years. Having spent almost half of their career now with Berkley Schools, JHops is proud to be the District Drama Coordinator (Dream Job with Dream District) having directed over 50 theatrical productions, showcases and camp reviews. In addition to their dramatic duties, JHops is proud co-advisor for the Berkley High School Gender/Sexuality Alliance as well as advisor for the Berkley Auditorium Technical Staff (BATS). Ever thankful for every student and colleague, they are most thankful for husband Mike, step-daughter Maddy, his secret security guard friends and his school besties (you know who you are!). JHops would also like to thank Pam Primak, Kim Young, Lynn Montemayor, Johnna Balk, Janis Seabolt, Megan Brockman, Jacqueline Terbrack, Evelyn Coleman, Nora Rhein, Katy McIntire, Leah Sugarman, Abby Williams, Miles Young, Meredith Julius and Caitlyn Drinkard for help with auditions and casting. Big thanks to Andrew Meloche (best principal ever), the BHS secretarial staff (find better support ... you can't!) and Custodial staff as well as the Berkley School District administration, who never cease to support the Drama Department. JHops would also like to shout out to the coolest middle school performers of the Norup and Anderson Drama Clubs. Be Drama hopes you'll see beyond the catchy tunes, stunning choreography, brilliant acting and gorgeous sets to see that there is a bigger message to our show. You can do anything. All beings are equal until they prove otherwise with their actions. If you want something, go for it. Treat others with respect regardless of anything that makes them different from you and love those you get to love with pride. Go Bears!
