Marian or the True Tale of Robin Hood tells a story you may be familiar with. A green cloak. A bow. An arrow. And a mission of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. But, there’s a catch. This Robin Hood lives two lives, one as the leader of the Merry Men, and the other as Lady Marian in Nottingham Castle. Prince John, ruler of Nottingham (and one of Marian’s suitors) kidnap’s villagers, and the Merry Men embark on a mission to save them, and along the way reveal that there is much more to them than meets the eye. The play pokes fun and gender roles and romance, resulting in an effervescent adventure-comedy sprinkled with action that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat! Come to the ACHS Theatre on November 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th to witness the hilarity and heartbreak firsthand and fall in love with Marian and her merry band of thieves!

Performing on November 9th & 12th is our Sherwood Cast. While on November 10th & 11th our Nottingham Cast will be performing. 

This show is recommended for ages 12+ due to what some consider to be mature content, including intimacy, mild language and mild violence.

Show run time is 1 hour and 30 minutes, with a 10 minute intermission.

ACHS Theatre Arts is a growing, passionate group of students in Drama 1 & 2, Advanced Drama, and Musical Theatre and participating in after-school productions. We are proud to present two full-length shows every year as well as "Winter One-Acts" in January. Theatre is a unique learning environment and one of the most authentic project-based learning possible. Students collaborate to bring a show to life and present it to friends, peers, and community members.

We encourage all ACHS students to join the Theater Arts department by taking Drama 1 or 2, Musical Theatre, auditioning for Advanced Drama, or joining the American Canyon Drama Club. There are many opportunities where you can participate in this department, either onstage or behind the scenes. Experience is not required! All are welcome to experience the spirit, dedication, and talent of American Canyon High School's theatre family.

Our goal this year is to push the boundaries and be ourselves! Similar to our new season theme ‘Limitless.’ Growth in acting skills, technical aspects, and parent support is our next steps. We hope you will join us on our learning journey as we delve into classics, contemporary, and playwriting skills. You'll be surprised on the many great adventures of ACHS Theatre Arts!
