Welcome to the Wayne theater department

Welcome to the Wayne High School Theater Department—where stories come alive, voices rise, and purpose takes the stage.

After a decade-long silence, our stage lights shine once more. Since relaunching our program in 2022, Wayne Theater has become more than a department—it’s become a movement. Our students aren’t just actors; they’re storytellers. Creators. Changemakers. We were honored to return with You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, our first musical in ten years, and it was only the beginning.

We believe theater is more than entertainment. It is a force for empathy. A platform for truth. A mirror to society and a window into the human spirit. At Wayne, we don’t just put on shows—we tell stories that matter. We are artists, yes. But we are also activists. Every production is a chance to challenge, to uplift, to spark conversation, and to bring people together.

Recent Productions:

2022–2023: Bad Auditions by Bad Actors & You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

2023–2024: 12 Angry Jurors & Little Shop of Horrors

2024–2025: TRAP by Stephen Gregg & The Addams Family

Our department is a haven for creativity, collaboration, and courage. We welcome students of all backgrounds to discover their voice, their confidence, and their community here. Whether it’s their first time on stage or their final curtain call as a senior, every student plays a vital role in creating something unforgettable.

To keep this dream alive, we’re rebuilding—one prop, one costume, one light cue at a time. We’re actively fundraising to restore our inventory and give our students the resources they deserve. Every donation fuels the magic: costumes, sound, lighting, set design, and the tools that turn ideas into impact.

When you support Wayne Theater, you’re not just helping put on a show. You’re helping young people find their voice. You’re investing in a space where imagination matters and stories have power.

We invite you to join us on this extraordinary journey. Attend a show. Donate. Share our mission. Applaud loudly. And know that with your help, the curtain will keep rising on something beautiful.

Thank you for believing in our students, our vision, and the power of live theater.

We’ll see you in the spotlight.
