Since opening as a 5-8 middle school building in 2017, SPMS Theater welcomed students in grades 5th through 8th to join during the 2018-2019 school year when science teacher and theater geek Angie Schilling took on the role as Lead Director.  From then on, any SPMS student has been encouraged to join this extracurricular opportunity to work as a crew member or actor, or both!  Past shows include "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (having a cast and crew of over 50 students) and "How to Talk Minnesotan" (the middle school's first musical).

Even with COVID19 restrictions, SPMS has worked to continue to include theater into the plan to provide a valuable and creative opportunity for students.  The amount of support we have from the St. Peter, MN community continues to grow.  Sadly, we won't fill the theater seats like we did last year but restrictions allowed us to pursue new opportunities to try streaming services to include a wider audience for families and friends of the cast and crew.
