About Rock Of Ages

Set on L.A.’s famous Sunset Strip in 1987, Rock of Ages tells the story of Drew, a city boy from South Detroit, and Sherrie, a small-town girl, who have both traveled to L.A. to chase their dreams of making it big and falling in love. This classic love story is set against the troubles at the Dupree Room, a “legendary temple of rock ‘n’ roll excellence” under threat by developers of being torn down and replaced with a strip mall. The threats of closure bring legendary rocker Stacee Jaxx to town, and an opportunity for Drew to chase his dream to rock out with the best.

Trouble brews as Drew abandons Sherrie for his dream of stardom, rock ‘n’ roll bad boy Stacee lures Sherrie away, and the Dupree Room is surrendered to developers. Can Drew and Sherrie rescue their love? And can the Dupree Room be saved before it’s too late?

Unlabeled Theatre Company's re-imaging of this rocking musical spoofs the tropes of the 80's Hair Metal era with their innovative “Artist + Shadow Partner” staging model. Performed on the intimate Andy Boss Thrust Stage at Park Square Theatre, an immersive concert experience awaits you as soon as you enter the lobby. Be prepared to sip classic 80's beverages as you sing along to such rock anthems as “Sister Christian,” “Dead or Alive,” and “Don't Stop Believing."

Unlabeled Theatre Company

Here at Unlabeled, we believe in unified theatre performances. Why does the world insist on separate programming and institutions based on abilities and disabilities? Unlabeled is here to change that standard by casting shows with two people in almost every role. One artist - who has a cognitive and/or physical disability or is neurodivergent - is paired with a neurotypical artist. Together, they create their role and performance. Every partnership is different and unique.

Our mission is to use live theatre to provide performing, vocational and life skills opportunities for adults (18+) with disabilities.

Our organization models and helps create a more inclusive world. Unlabeled Theatre creates opportunities for actor-artists with disabilities, volunteers, and community members to experience what people with disabilities can do.

Our work allows people to truly be seen, and be genuinely included.
