About Disney's The Little Mermaid
Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a fun, fast-paced stage musical based on the beloved animated movie—brought to life with live singing, dancing, and colorful theatrical magic. The story follows Ariel, a curious young mermaid princess who dreams of exploring the human world above the sea. Her fascination with humans causes tension with her father, King Triton, who believes the surface world is dangerous.
After Ariel rescues Prince Eric during a storm and falls in love, she makes a risky deal with the sea witch Ursula: Ariel will become human for three days, but in exchange, she must give up her voice. With the help of her loyal friends—Sebastian the crab, Flounder, and the hilarious seagull Scuttle—Ariel tries to navigate life on land, win Eric’s heart, and beat the clock before Ursula’s plan takes over.
The musical features unforgettable songs like “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” and “Kiss the Girl,” along with additional stage numbers, big ensemble scenes, and larger-than-life characters. It’s a family-friendly show filled with humor, heart, and spectacular moments that make it a perfect production for high school theatre.
