About Kinnor Philharmonic New Year's Concert
One of Kansas City's most beloved musical traditions returns each January 1st: the Kinnor Philharmonic, The White Theatre's cherished artists-in-residence, presents a themed symphonic concert inspired by the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Day Concert. Under the skilled baton of conductor Chris Kelts, Kinnor brings a fresh program each year that delights both seasoned classical music lovers and newcomers alike.
Founded in the Jewish community of Kansas City, Kinnor Philharmonic is dedicated to celebrating the rich diversity of Jewish musical heritage alongside the great traditions of symphonic repertoire. With 45 to 55 musicians, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, the ensemble brings extraordinary artistry and warmth to every performance.
Following the concert, a festive bubbly reception brings the celebration together. It is the perfect way to begin the year -- with great music, great company, and the joy that only live performance can bring.
