A coming-of-age meets Blaxploitation tale. It is set on an all-American university campus in the year 1975. It follows the lives of Q (a Black adoptee yielding her camera lens towards new horizons) and her roommate, Jam (a firecracker revolutionary raised by former Black Panthers). The two freshmen meet Marcus, an older student who is dealing with the aftermath of a racially motivated attack from the year prior. Together, the three bond together to form their college's first ever Black Student Union.
