About Women's Wit & Wisdom: Lovers, Dreamers and the Like

A night of short plays and monologues that take you on a journey of speed dating, breaking up, and just plain oddity of living in this new world of AI. This brings to life voices that span many ages and states of being which we are proud to have on the stage. Please note there are themes and issues in this show that have sensitive subject matter and are not appropriate for younger viewers. Thank you.

Some our featured writers and their pieces include: (listed in show order)

Three A.M. by Barbara Blumenthal -  A mom must get her daughter's party off and going correctly. And Cake is what is keeping her up all night. A comedic and also all too relatable moment when as a parent you struggle.

The Yellow Line by Caitlin Gurtner - What happens when you step off the line in the road you are on? A dive in mental wellness shapes this piece with great heartache and realism of what it is to deal with mental illness

ADULTS by Maizy Broderick Scarpa - Who would know what to do when your mom dies? Mom! Two sisters reflect on their past together and the love they share when their mom passes.

Speed Dating Parts 1 and 2 by Lee Zamloch - Gear up for some really fun comedy in two pieces about the dating world over 40. Our first round takes us on a night geared for the men but our second night is geared for the women and do they all meet some doozies!

Suzanne 3 by Victoria Z. Daly - We lament our aging but this woman sees how being invisible maybe has advantages

Welcome to the Revolution by Andrea Aptecker - A dystopian future…. or is it? A young woman is faced with what it will cost her for taking ownership of her own body. This is for mature audiences only please.

Dear Tyler by Elise Hodge - an excerpt from her full length play “Broken”, this love letter bares the soul of a woman who wants to rejoin the world after living behind the locked doors of her house.

We are honored to present their stories, their words on The Ooley Theatre Stage!
