About The Goods

The Goods are a Miami-based rock band formed in 1989 by brothers Jim Camacho and John Camacho. Known for their melodic, hook-driven rock and energetic live shows, the band also featured Tony Oms on guitar and Kasmir Kujawa on drums. Throughout the 1990s they became one of South Florida’s most prominent original rock acts.

The band released five albums during the decade, including the rock-opera concept album 5 Steps to Getting Signed (1992) and the critically praised Mint (1995), which produced the regional hit “I’m Not Average.” Their success eventually led to a deal with Blackheart Records/PolyGram and the 1998 album Good Things Are Coming, produced by legendary producer Tom Dowd.

The Goods gained national attention with a VH1 documentary and shared stages with artists such as Pearl Jam, Matthew Sweet, Cracker, and The Smithereens. After a decade of touring and recording, the band disbanded in 1999, leaving a lasting legacy as one of Miami’s most influential modern rock bands.
