Director
James Hansen Prince
James Hansen Prince had his first taste of acting as a child at Chris Wilson's Actor's Theatre in Houston, Texas. He later earned his B.A. in Theater from the University of Texas at Dallas. In the 1980's he steadily worked in theatres throughout the DFW and Houston areas. His passion for acting continued to thrive as he progressed into television and film. James has acted or directed over 300 productions and written 9 full-length plays including, “Mother, Middle America and Men,” “Behind the Cotton Curtain: Remembering Medgar Evers,” “A Debt that led to Home,” and “Inferno! Fire at the Cocoanut Grove: 1942,” which ran for 4 weeks Off-Broadway in November 2018 at Theatre 80 St. Mark in the East Village. In addition to James' prolific writing, he has directed several new productions from local playwrights along with other well-known plays.
Assistant Director
Drew Grimes
Drew Grimes is back at the Core Theatre, this time as Assistant Director for this crazy, wacky production. Drew was most recently seen as Professor Willard and Sam Craig (Our Town) here at the Core Theatre. Favorite roles include Edna Turnblad (Hairspray), Father (Children of Eden), Claudius (Hamlet), and Professor Bhaer (Little Women). Drew has studied theatre at Texas State University, but in a twist of fate became a nurse and works professionally as a Private Duty RN. Now back in the theatre, Drew looks forward to honing in on directing, playwriting, and creating new works with other passionate artists. In his free time, Drew enjoys music, reading, reality TV, fundraising for the National MS Society, and spending time with his cats and dog. Drew would like to thank above all others his partner Maximus whose love is what enables and inspires him to live so fully and freely. Enjoy the show!
Stage Manager
Alaska Spikerman
Being able to help facilitate all of these talented actors transform Poodles into an incredibly endearing performance has been the thrill of a lifetime for me! The entire cast & crew has been a delight to both work with and see do what they do best. I am so excited for everyone to get a chance to see all of the mayhem, mischief, and fun this show has to offer! Originally from Florida, Alaska dabbled in theatre in high school, getting to take part in such shows as Grease, Little Shop, and Check, please! Since moving to Texas, Alaska has loved getting involved in the community theatre scene, most recently as the ASM for Addams Family.
Film Editor
Autumn McNamara
This isn't Autumn's first time working behind the scenes. She has helped stage manage The Core's production of Steel Magnolias and loves helping out as often as she can with marketing and promotions for The Core Theatre. Film editing has been a long-time hobby. What first started out as editing family videos into full-out memory DVDs for the family is slowly but surely turning into a side-gig as a film editor! It's a lot of fun helping piece together the story to make it whole.
