About Mamma Mia

Director's Notes:
When selecting our first production in this newly renovated auditorium, I knew it needed to be something special—full of life, joy, and energy. I wanted a show our students would love performing, that audiences could instantly connect with, and that our community would remember for years to come. For me, that show had to be Mamma Mia!.

At first glance, Mamma Mia! may seem like a simple jukebox musical—fun, familiar, and full of great music. But beneath that surface is a story rich with emotional complexity, exploring identity, love, memory, and the ever-evolving relationship between parent and child.

Music plays a unique role in telling that story. With the constant presence of the ensemble—whether seen or unseen—the songs become more than just entertainment. They act as an emotional landscape, giving voice to what the characters cannot always say out loud. Throughout the show, we move in and out of Donna and Sophie’s inner worlds, hearing their thoughts and feelings come to life through song. Our goal has been to highlight this storytelling device and bring those internal journeys to the forefront.

Thank you for being here, for supporting our students, and for sharing in the joy of live theatre. Enjoy the show!
