About Finding Nemo Jr. Tech Crew

Join the cast of Spotlight Arts Collective's “Finding Nemo: Jr” as our Tech Crew this June.

Build and paint sets and craft props on Saturdays in June (6th, 13th, 20th) for our performance of "Finding Nemo:Jr".

Saturday prop and set build days will take place at the Joseph P. Spencer Studio for the Arts at 120 Jessie Street, Manhattan, IL. These days will be at 10:00 am through 2:00 pm, and will be for making various set pieces and on-stage props for the show. There will be break at noon for a bag lunch that they will have to bring. No materials are needed for these build days, but we may ask participants to complete some at-home projects on a volunteer basis. All participants must wear close-toed shoes and clothes that are OK to get paint on.

During the week of June 21st - 27th, they will help run the show from backstage during tech rehearsals and performances!

This is the biggest commitment. They will need to be at the Lincoln Way West Auditorium for at least 4 hours on Sunday, June 21st for load-in and more set building/painting. The times available on that day range from 11:00 am - 8:00 pm (more details to come at the time of the camp). Then, Monday through Thursday of that week, they will be at LWW from 4:00 - 8:00 for tech rehearsals where they will be the “run crew”. They will be responsible for things such as: helping performers with body microphones, organizing and managing the prop tables, moving set pieces, possibly running lights or projections, as well as other backstage jobs. They will continue to be the run crew for the performances, which are at 7:00 on Friday, June 26th, as well as 2:00 and 6:00 on Saturday, June 27th. Strike immediately follows the last performance, and will be required of Tech Crew participants as well.

Cost per participant is $50. No experience necessary. This camp is open to participants going into 4th - 8th grades. Registration includes all Saturday build days, tech rehearsals, and performances as well as a show shirt.
