About Finding Nemo Jr. Summer Camp Registration

$350 (plus $16.22 in fees) Registration pays for: four pre-camp workshops, three weeks of camp rehearsals, and cast shirt. 

  • Workshops will be on Wednesdays in May (13th, 20th, 27th, and June 3rd) from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Joseph P. Spencer Studio for the Arts (120 Jessie St., Manhattan, IL).
  • Workshop on May 28th will be for auditions from approximately 6:00 - 8:00 pm (times subject to change). All registered students will be cast in the show. Auditions are for role assignments. Students will sign up for audition times within this time frame and will be required to perform a singing, dancing, and acting portion. More details discussed at the workshops.
  • Call back auditions may be used on Friday, May 30th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Joseph P. Spencer Studio for the Arts (120 Jessie St., Manhattan, IL)
  • June 3rd is for an all cast read-through and costume try-on/measurement from 6:00 - 8:00 at the Joseph P. Spencer Studio for the Arts.
  • Rehearsals will be June 8th - 11th, and June 15th - 18th from 4:00- 8:00 pm at the Joseph P. Spencer Studio for the Arts.
  • Tech week rehearsals will be at Lincoln Way West High School from June 22rd - 25th from 4:00 - 9:00 pm (note the time change for tech rehearsals).
  • Performances will be at Lincoln Way West High School on Friday June 26th at 7:00 (cast called at 5:00), Saturday June 27th at 2:00 (cast called at 12:00) and 6:00 (cast called at 5:00).
  • Strike to follow immediately after final performance.

Costumes will be purchased by Spotlight to be retained at the studio. Families may also choose to purchase their own costumes to keep following the performances. 

Families will be required to volunteer to help with the production in one of the following ways: 

  • help build or paint set pieces as needed
  • help purchase, build, or modify costumes and props (sewing, painting, etc…)
  • supervise at requested times during regular rehearsals (background check required and provided by Spotlight Arts Collective)
  • supervise the greenroom or backstage areas during tech rehearsals and performances (background check required and provided by Spotlight Arts Collective)

Spotlight Arts Collective Developing Artist program provides aspiring actors and actresses interactive educational and live theatre experiences through a wide array of performing and fine arts events. Our mission is to ignite passion in developing actors by providing safe, secure, and highly professional theater experiences that increase creativity, build self esteem, enhance collaborative skills, and nourish imagination on and off the stage. The creative endeavors of Spotlight continue to raise money for charities, scholarships, and other philanthropic pursuits in the community.
