Founded in 2005, the Sierra School of Performing Arts began with a simple yet ambitious goal: to provide a creative space where children and adults from Reno and nearby areas could grow and excel under the guidance of professional theater teaching artists. Our journey started with summer camps and theater classes, leading to our first productions featuring both children and adults, supported by a dedicated all-volunteer crew. Fast forward to nearly two decades later, and SSPA now stages large-scale, professional-quality Broadway shows every summer at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch, and delightful youth productions each winter. Our casts and crews showcase the finest local talent from the Truckee Meadows region. We also continue to nurture artistic growth through our ongoing theater camps, classes, and workshops for participants of all ages.
