Seussical: The Musical Cast

Daniel Waggoner (Horton The Elephant)
Daniel Waggoner is thrilled to return for his third consecutive season on stage at Shawnee Theatre, where he previously portrayed the sensational Gomez Addams in The Addams Family Musical and the lovable Daddy Warbucks in Annie. In addition to performing, Daniel proudly serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors and Head of Maintenance and Facilities at the Shawnee, helping to support the theatre both on and off the stage. He would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible cast and crew for their hard work, talent, and dedication. It's an honor to be part of such a passionate and creative team.
Maiya McRoberts (Thursday & Saturday)/Cora Feltner (Friday & Sunday) (Jojo)
Kendall Garno-Foote (The Cat in the Hat)
Sara Spillman (Gertrude McFuzz)
Sara grew up reading about Gertrude McFuzz from her copy of Yertle the Turtle on the living room floor of her home in Southern Illinois, but she raised her kids on There's a Wocket in my Pocket in Eastern Greene County. When she's not busy homeschooling her own children, she teaches/directs other people's in Toil & Trouble Theatre in Bloomington.
Leiran Jackson (Maizie La Bird)
Leiren recieved her BFA (summa cum laude) in Musical Theatre from Northern Kentucky University, where she was a Governor’s Scholar and winner of the Three Arts scholarship contest. Past credits include: Molly/Kitty/Angel/Choreographer (Music of Denali, Holland America Princess Cruiselines) Juliet (Romeo and Juliet, Kane Repertory Theatre), Courtesan (Comedy of Errors, Beverly Arts Center), Dum/Dee (ALICE, InBocca Productions), Urleen (Footloose, Kincaid Regional Theatre), Audrey (Leading Ladies, Cincinnati Landmark Productions), and Grandma Addams (The Addams Family, Kincaid Regional Theatre). She’s a certified yoga and fitness instructor and loves to hike, read, write, thrift, and be around animals. Love forever to AWWA, her family, and her fiancé.
Tabitha Burton (Sour Kangaroo)
Tabitha is excited to be back for her third season as Artistic Director, proving once again that sleep is optional and the show must go on. By day, she is a Business Teacher at Bloomfield High School, and by night (and most weekends), she can usually be found solving problems she didn't know existed five minutes earlier. This season, Tabitha is thrilled to share the stage with some of her students, while taking on the roles of the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, and Aunt Eller in Oklahoma! -- because apparently being in one show wasn't enough. Between rehearsals, productions, emails, schedules, and the occasional minor crisis, she somehow manages to keep the theatre running. This past year has been especially theatrical as she welcomed her son, Teddy, into the world in October. Since then, she's discovered that raising a baby and running a theatre require many of the same skills: patience, flexibility, and the ability to function on very little sleep. Tabitha would like to thank her family for their unwavering support, the Board of Directors for trusting her with organized chaos, and most importantly her dog, Presh, and her son Teddy. One Requires an abundance of treats, the other occasionally lets her sleep, and both deserve a standing ovation. This performance is for you, my loves!
Rhaylee Potts (Lil Kangaroo)
Connor Sconce (Mr. Mayor)
Connor is going into his junior year at Indiana University, majoring in exercise science with a minor in music. He was last seen onstage in his first professional production at Cross Roads Repertory Theater as ensemble in the Wizard of Oz with other credits as Claude Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Maurice in Beauty and the Beast. Connor is very excited to be making his Shawnee debut this summer and would like to thank his family, friends, and mentors for all of their support!

Meadhoh Jerrels (Bird Girl 1)
Miriam Spillman (Bird Girl 2)
As a wise, old 10 year old, Miriam was devastated by the knowledge that being homeschooled would mean she'd never get to be in a musical. Three years later, she's discovered the folly of youth after being in many shows both here at Shawnee and in Bloomington. Her favorite role to date is Matilda (Matilda, Constellation), while her favorite to hate is Miranda (The Tempest, Toil & Trouble).
Leah Mckee (Bird Girl 3)
Katie Bowsher (Bird Girl 4)
Katie is an upcoming junior at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music studying vocal performance and speech, language, and hearing science.
