About Spring Parents' Day Out
Support parents in theatre while you attend a local matinee! Parents and caregivers can enjoy an afternoon out around Raleigh while your kids (ages 4-11) enjoy puppet-themed crafts and games with Seed Art Share’s teaching artists!
The event will last 5 hours from 1pm-6pm and costs $70 for the first child, and $45 for each additional child in the family. Drop-ins are permitted at $25/hr per child for the first child and $20/hr per child for each additional child in the family. The event will be held at the City of Raleigh Museum, located at 220 Fayetteville St. in Downtown Raleigh. Your child will enjoy a STEAM-style puppetry adventure focusing on how muscles and joints help your body move for playing sports, dance, and other spring activities!
By participating in Parent’s Day Out with Seed you are helping Seed continue to produce impactful theatre and provide caregivers with theatre access. Thank you! Please direct any questions to Rachel Nunn at [email protected].
Seed Art Share
In an area replete with cultural arts education and performances, Seed Art Share is committed to share stories, space, and experiences. While our integration classes teach performance technique, they also emphasize cross-curricular connections such as history, science, and language arts. We offer camps and workshops for homeschool coops and community organizations to reinforce their relevant course of study. You can register for our current camps and weekly classes offered through The Town of Garner and The Town of Cary at www.seedartshare.org.
In an effort to build community relationships and bring audiences into local businesses, we perform original and classical plays in stores, restaurants, offices, galleries, parks, museums, and other non-traditional venues. Some of our recent partners include The City of Raleigh (including The City of Raleigh Museum, Mordecai Historic Park, and The Borden Building), The North Carolina Museum of History, Artsplosure, Live it up Hillsborough St., Raleigh Little Theatre, The Irregardless Cafe, and the Well-Fed Community Garden, and Garner Parks and Rec. In partnership with Applause! Cary Youth Theatre, this season's A Peter Rabbit Christmas travels family audiences throughout the new Downtown Cary Park.
We also partner with other existing theatre organizations to present show-themed drama activities for children whose parents are performing or attending matinee productions. We have developed “Share the Show” curriculum and created family inclusive programs for our own shows such as The Miracle Worker and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as Playmakers Repertory Company, The Justice Theatre Project, The National Women’s Theatre Festival, NCTC, Pure Life Theatre Company, Burning Coal Theatre, and BARE Theatre.
