About Celebrating Americana & From Sea to Sky

Rio Rancho Youth Chorus and The Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho will make your spirit take flight on May 18 and 19 at 2 PM. The performances will take place at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2903 Cabezon Road, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  ASL sign language interpretation will be provided at both performances.

The Youth Chorus and Children’s Chorus are programs of Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads. Colin Burdge, Artistic Director of the Youth Chorus, describes the From Sea to Sky as an inspiring selection of contemporary and classical-style choral music, vocal jazz, musical theater, and Celtic folk music that evokes the beginning of a journey, while reflecting on where we came from.

This will be Michelle Zetterholm's first concert as Artistic Director of The Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho, and she is excited to show the community what she and the chorus have accomplished together this season. She says of Celebrating Americana, “I wanted to pick out songs that would inspire their spirits and to be a part of this world that leaves it in a better place."

From the crawdad hole to the Rocky Mountains, from the stormy seas to the starry sky, this concert is a journey you don't want to miss!

Rio Rancho Choruses

Founded in 2013, Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads' (RRCC) mission is to bring high quality, reasonably priced cultural art to Rio Rancho. We focus on finding ways to introduce our members and our community to bigger, bolder, different, extraordinary artistic experiences you would never expect to get in Rio Rancho.

You may not recognize the name Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads, because you may know us by one of our program names. We have three chorale programs, Rio Rancho Youth Chorus, established in 2013 for middle and high schoolers, Encore, an a cappella ensemble of advanced youth chorus singers established in 2016, and the Children's Chorus of Rio Rancho, established in 2021 for 2nd-5th graders. We are also GenerARTistry, which helps local talents produce their art in an easily consumable fashion so they can use their gifts to gift their community, Rio Rancho Players Community Theatre (RRP), an all ages community theater that rehearses and performs in Rio Rancho, and Rio Rancho Art on the Mesa's Mini Monets, a parent/toddler art class for ages 3-5.
