About Monty Python's Spamalot

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a killer rabbits, flying cows, French people, and real-live coconuts! Did we mention the killer rabbit? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

Spamalot School Edition is a slightly reworked version of the original Broadway script. The School Edition has been carefully edited, with additional director’s notes throughout, to make the show more producible for high school groups. In some cases, problematic language has been changed, while in others an alternate choice is offered at the discretion of the director. The School Edition has been field-tested at numerous high schools under the supervision of a teacher/director with forty years of experience in educational theatre. Every effort has been made to provide more opportunities for female actors. Reference is made to this in both the characters list as well as in the director’s notes throughout the script.

Regis High School

Following the command of Jesus, Regis St. Mary Catholic School joyfully proclaims the Kingdom of God in the Santiam Canyon. We meet families where they are in their faith lives and journey with them as they grow in discipleship, knowledge, and love of Christ the King.

Recognizing the primary role of parents in passing on the Catholic faith to their children, we partner with families to teach all students to love God and serve Jesus in their neighbors in need.

Drawing upon the rich Catholic educational heritage of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and the Benedictine-inspired values of our local parishes, we educate students spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically taking into account each individual’s unique needs and abilities.

We believe by integrating faith and service into all aspects of our curriculum and exemplifying Christian values throughout our school, our students will be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to evangelize the world as disciples of Christ.
