Ms. Nelson primarily teaches English, but also took over our theatre elective this school year!
“I am blessed with passionate students and supportive staff, but we are a relatively new department starting from scratch. So far, my students have really taken to the challenges and have helped with everything! We’ve used public domain works to inspire our own scripts, sets, music, graphic design, and costuming. It is all 100% made by the ingenuity of our class!”
We are trying our best to raise money for auditorium curtains and to build or buy a multi-level, multi use set piece for our productions. This is coupled with the ongoing annual costs of costuming, props, production-specific set pieces, and future production script rights.
We get $1000 dollars from the state each year- that’s $500 for our fall play and $500 for our spring musical. Usually costuming alone can easily drain that budget. We thrift shop and borrow as much as we can, we want to offer more from our productions! While writing our own scripts gives us a lot of freedom and saves money, it is also extremely time consuming. Being able to afford the rights to some of the more modern musical would buy us both time and community recognition. You won’t regret helping give us an opportunity to shine the best that we can!
All donations made here will go directly to the PikeView High Theatre account for future productions.
