About 1776
1776 is a celebrated musical by Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone that dramatizes the Second Continental Congress's struggle to draft and sign the Declaration of Independence. Centered around John Adams's quest for American independence, the show is celebrated for its wit, humanizing portrayal of the Founding Fathers, and iconic score.
1776 is made possible with public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Earlville Opera House

The Norwich Theater Company has been presenting quality performances since 2010. Murder mysteries, talent showcases, dinner theater, musical reviews, trivia competitions, and show-stopping musicals are just a few of the many productions our talented members have created. We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit entity governed by a Board of Trustees, elected from and by our Membership. The Trustees work in a committee structure to establish and publicize our performance season and other events, ensure fiscal sustainability and responsibility, maintain our records, and much more.
