About The Dining Room
The Dining Room is a two-act play by A.R. Gurney that consists of eighteen overlapping and unrelated vignettes. Set in an elegant dining room, the play provides a slice-of-life view of upper-middle-class American families from the Depression to the 1980s. Each vignette introduces different characters and events, covering topics such as family dynamics, infidelity, and generational conflicts.
