Alice in Wonderland has been a fun but challenging experience. Chorpenning's adaptation of the script pulls many elements directly from Lewis Carroll's novel novel and blends them together with her script. Creating the usual wonderland nonsense but with a few interesting twists. In rehearsal we talked a lot about the idea behind wonderland and the journey Alice goes on. Taking the point of view that Alice, unsure how to grow up, is getting to that awkward age where childhood wonder meets reality. As the rabbit warns her early on that wonderland and its subsequent creatures are a reflection of Alice. If she acts petulant or lets her anger get the best of her wonderland will respond in kind. I hope you enjoy our take on Alice in Wonderland written by Lewis Carroll and adapted for the stage by Charlotte Chorpenning.
