Tony Browley (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)
Tony Browley, is honored to be performing as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. After his first role as Floyd in August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, Tony was bitten by the acting bug. Soon after, he picked up the role as Troy in Fences. He also played a challenging role as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Jef Stenson’s The Meeting, and the iconic role of Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird with the Gallery Players and as Lucifer Morningstar in By His Stripes. He has been working on his craft for years now, and has devoted much time to honing his acting skills. He’s always itching to get back to the lights, and plans to make a name for himself on the stage.
Khiya Hawthorne  (CAMAE)
Khiya, from Livingston, NJ, is Graduating Senior Theatre major concentrating in Performance. She was last seen as Beverly in CHICKEN AND BISCUITS; Ruby Jackson in ON STRIVER'S ROW; Beverly in THE BUS STOP; AND Lil Bits in ONE MONKEY DON'TSTOP NO SHOW as well as student directed plays. Khiya received a 2023 KCACTF Irene Ryan Nomination and University Honor's Excellence in Performance award. Khiya is grateful for the support of her mother and is excited about her future endeavors.
Oluwaseyifunmi Sunmola (CAMAE)
Oluwaseyifunmi Sunmola, from Charlotte, NC, is a Graduating Senior at NCCU majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Performance. She recently played Banetta in CHICKEN AND BISCUITS and Louise in ON STRIVER'S ROW. "Sheyi" was also a featured performer in NCCU/Chapel Hill's 2023 production of Me Too Monologues. She is a 2024 KCACTF Irene Ryan Nominee and NADSA 2023 winner of the Oral Interpretation of Prose Category.
Derontay Alexander (Understudy for DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING)
Derontay Alexander, from Greensboro, NC, is a second degree Senior majoring in Theatre with a Performance Concentration. Derontay was last seen as Rufus in THE DRUMS OF SWEETWATER in which he received a KCACTF Irene Ryan nomination. He is a trumpet player in the NCCU Sound Machine Marching Band. Derontay is also a graphic designer. He would like to thank his family , and the department for giving him this opportunity.
