About Evangeline

Evangeline: The Musical is an epic Cajun love story about the 1755 Acadian migration to Louisiana based on the 1847 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem. It is a story of family, faith, and triumph over tragedy.

Evangeline: The Musical has thrilled sold-out audiences in dozens of venues around Louisiana, Florida, and Arizona.  It was televised locally by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and nationally by Public Broadcasting System (PBS.) Internationally, Evangeline was produced twice in the homeland of the Acadians in Canada, first in English, and then a year later in Acadian French in a fully translated version.

Dr. John Doucet will be presenting a special lecture titled “Our Own Evangeline: Bayou Lafourche as the Last Acadian Coast” at 2pm on
Sunday, October 15th before the show.
