Joey Calbrese (Jason)
Joey Calabrese is an actor, entertainer, and teaching artist from Harwinton, CT. Joey graduated from Western Connecticut State University obtaining a BA in Theatre Performance with a double concentration in Arts Management. For the past 10 years, Joey has been teaching children of all ages, working with the Warner Theatre Center For Arts Education in Torrington CT, and since early 2019 Joey has been working with innerAct Theatre and ERA Productions where he integrated theatre arts into school curriculums and helped direct shows throughout the years. He recently moved down to Myrtle Beach SC in hopes to bring theatre and the joys of life to the young actors in the area. Joey believes that Integrating theatre into students' lives during their most influential years creates a more empathetic, open-minded, and imaginative individual. He believes that providing theatre and the arts to students outside of school will strengthen their ability to communicate, to interact, and to be self-aware.
Kristen Schaeffer (Claire)
Kristen Schaeffer is a singer/songwriter/musical theatre performer/teacher! A born and raised New Yorker, she has been singing for as long as she can remember. Beginning with a love of theatre and evolving as a student at Berklee College of Music, She slowly developed a sound all her own, fusing the storytelling nature of theatre with a folky/pop twist. After Berklee, she released two albums, Bluebirds and Bloom with producer Chris Keup (Jason Mraz, OAR, Parachute). She was most recently featured on an episode of the CW's Charmed with her song "Shadows" as well as a compilation album of all-female KISS covers created by MediaHorse in partnership with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. She has spent the last few years in Canada studying theatre (Macewan University), writing music and teaching voice lessons until she finally made the long journey to Myrtle Beach to join the rest of her family.
Zack Olds (Warren)
Zack Olds is a professional actor, dancer, choreographer, singer, model, and instructor. He is a Myrtle Beach native and Coastal Carolina University graduate with a BFA in physical theatre. Some of Zack’s favorite theatre performance credits include Linus in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Atlantic Stage), Junior in Crazy For You (Coastal Carolina University), Billy Nolan in Carrie (Theatre of the Republic), Dove Puppeteer/Ensemble in Cinderella: Enchanted (Flat Rock Playhouse), and Deviser/Ensemble in two devised shows at CCU, Oneiric and Putt-Putt. As a film actor, his most noteworthy credits include being featured in season 4 of Stranger Things (Netflix), Do Revenge (Netflix), and Killer Queen (Ranch House Productions, LLC). Zack spends his dance competition season as an adjudicator for Precision Arts Challenge. Megan Hoffman (Deb)
Megan Hoffman is a singer/musical theatre performer/teacher from Charleston, SC. Megan moved to Myrtle Beach in 2015 to attend Coastal Carolina University, where she later became a graduate with her Bachelor of Arts in Music (voice) and Master of Arts and Teaching in Music Education. She has had a passion for youth theatre from an early age. She attended Charleston School of the Arts from grades 9-12 as a vocal major, where her appreciation for music and teaching began. While at CCU, Megan assistant music directed shows in the summer at her home studio FAME (Little Mermaid Jr, Les Miserables School Edition) while performing at Theatre of the Republic. On top of her work in the community, she also was very active at CCU’s Music Department as Choral Librarian, Choir President and Soprano Section Leader. Since graduating, she has worked with several youth theatre’s and high school theatre programs throughout Horry County. (Socastee HS Drowsy Chaperone, Little Mermaid ’22-’23, St. James HS Mamma Mia! ’23) She has also worked professionally with Dublin WorldWide as the Vocal Director of their Christmas Wonderland production in Reno, NV. Megan now permanently resides as one of Myrtle Beach ACT's resident Voice Instructors and Musical Directors of Step Up, Rise Up, and Next Step. Teaching voice is her biggest passion, and she is so grateful she gets to do what she loves every single day!
