Little Shop of Horrors Cast

Mason Hurst (Seymour Krelborn)
Mason Hurst is a junior. Previously, he has played many different roles such as: a Dwarf in Snow White, a Hunter, and a Fisherman’s son. “I love theatre because he can get out on stage and have fun, and put on a show for others.
Brooke Reynolds (Audrey Fulquard)
Brooke Reynolds is a junior. She has participated in theatre, specifically musical theatre, since 6th grade. Her past performances include: The Greatest Showman, Annie, a cabaret show, and Aesop's Fableous Christmas Tree. “I love theatre and participating in plays because even though I've never been a very outgoing person, it's something I feel confident and happy doing.”
Luke Parker (Mr. Mushnick)
Luke Parker, is a sophomore, Previously credits include: Graspo in Beauty and The Beast, I played the abominable snowman, Mr. Snowman, and the King in Aesop’s Fableous Christmas Tree. “I love theatre because it allows me to express my artistic and acting capabilities. I love working on this show, Little Shop of Horrors, because the cast and crew are a wonderful bunch of people and I can tell they care about the production.”
Ashton Truenow (Orin Scrivello)
Ashton Truenow is a junior and has been participating in the MDCA theatre productions for eight years straight. This is his ninth. Ashton has been acting and participating in plays for so long because he is interested in the characters and getting to walk the stage in their shoes. This year he is extremely excited because the character he is playing is very complex, interesting, and he has a personality that I have never seen before. “Mrs. Abbate has been working hard on these plays for a very long time and has inspired me and lit that spark that made me interested in theatre/acting.”
Tai Haynes (Ronnette- A Street Urchin)
Tai Haynes, is a sophomore. Previous roles include: Aesop's Fables. “I love theatre because it gives me the opportunity to express my true talent." "Love art in yourself, not yourself in art." -Constantin Stanislavski
Abigail Tierney (Crystal- A Street Urchin)
Abigail Tierney is a freshman. Previous roles she can be credited with are supporting characters in Singing in the Rain Jr and All Shook Up, Newsie/ Nun/ Goon in Newsies, Reporter/ Emily in Elf Jr the musical, Ghost in A Dark Stormy Night, Carol in Appropriate Audience Behavior, and Snow White in Ever After the Musical. Abigail has been participating in musical theatre, as well as advanced chorus/vocal arts and intermediate dance for years now, and it is one of the things in her life that she is very passionate about! “Theatre helps me with life lessons and life skills in general, as well as letting her connect with her fellow thespians and peers.”
Maisey Anderson (Chiffon- A Street Urchin)
Maisey Anderson is a senior. Her previous roles & credits include: participating in theatre since sixth grade, Alice in Wonderland (Humpty Dumpty & the white knight), The Box, Christmas Shorts, South Of Broadway, Aesop's Fabelous Christmas, and Cinderella.”Mrs.Abbate has always supported me through all my endeavors on and off the stage, I owe her for all my successes in pushing me to be a better actress and human being. I’ll always keep her lessons with me as I graduate and go on to college.”
Kaitlyn Smith  (Sapphire- Street Urchin)
Kaitlyn Smith, is a sophomore. She has been in school productions for around six years, participating in plays such as South of Broadway, Carol and the Bells, and Annie. “I love theater because I get to act alongside other amazing people, as well as the fact that I can completely step into another person and fully be in character.”
Evan Smith (Audrey II- Large)
Evan Smith is a senior. This is his third high school show, but has done theatre since Kindergarten. “I love to sing and perform!”
Khloe Hennig (Audrey II- Small)
Khloe is a freshman. She was a background character in the little mermaid in elementary school.
Rob Hiser (Customer)
Rob Hiser is a senior. His previous roles in theatre included light management in the crew team. “Thanks to Mrs.Abbate for giving me the opportunity to not only have control over lights but also giving me a part of this year's play! I love theatre because it gives me a chance to portray and be someone else, rather than myself.”
Ava Benitez (Interviewer)
Ava Benitez is a freshmen. She has been participating in plays since 2nd grade playing many roles such as Bridget from trolls, Lago from Aladdin, Merida in Brave, Mother Gothel from Tangled, Michael from Elf, Tinkerbell from Peterpan, And a vendor in The Lions, The switch, and the warm robe.

Abby Rutherford (Mrs. Luce)
Abby Rutherford is a senior. Previous credits including: part of the crew for Christmas shorts and the cast for Aesop's Fable-ous Christmas tree. "I am doing this show because I have fun acting and really enjoy Little Shop of Horrors. :-)"
Josie Marcussen (Skipper Snip)
Josie Marcussen is a freshman. She has been doing theater since kindergarten, when she got her first lead as a cheerleader in a play. Other credits include: a crab, a bird, the Evil Enchantress in Beauty and the Beast, and Sally Lizzy Jessie Donatello Griffin in last year's production.As well as, crew for a few plays and have directed some scenes in Mrs Abbate's class. “I love theater because it allows me to express myself and have fun on stage. I've also made a lot of my friends through theater and that I really appreciate. Mrs. Abbate has always been one of my favorite teachers, so I want to thank her for everything she's done for me.”
Charlie Koller (Sound Design and Operation)
Charlie Koller is a ninth grade. Previous credits include: "Aesop's Fable-ous Christmas Tree", "The Lions, The Switch, and the Warm Robes", and "Cinderella or the Story of Big Foot" "A quote I really like is from The Lego Movie: "You don't have to be the bad guy. Faith Desravines (Sound Operator)
Faith Desravines is a seventh grader. This is her first time doing sound crew. Some previous credits include: King's Helper in The Lion, The Switch, and the Warm Robes and was also in a production of Mr. Popper’s Penguins. “I enjoy watching plays and being able to be a part of it. "I love the environment during practice and how no one is afraid to be who they are. Having Mrs. Abbate as a director inspires me to get involved in the arts”
Leah Goudreau (Deck Crew)
Leah Goudreau is a freshman. Her previous credits include: Crew (costume design) - The Lions, the Switch, and the Warm Robes 2021. (Shoutout to Ava Benitez, Khloe Hennig, Abigail Tierney, Faith Desravines, Charlie Koller, Mrs. Abbate, and Mr. Barker for being amazing to work with.) “I’ve really enjoyed working with the cast and crew on the production of Little Shop of Horrors while being able to help Mr. Barker, Mrs. Abbate, and the people I’ve worked with during the Little Shop of Horror production. I love theatre because it’s a gratifying experience watching a stack of script papers with a written story slowly come to life on the stage. A bonus is being able to support my friends who are in the play and watch them take the stage is an amazing experience to watch. I love being proud of their hard work and getting to congratulate them on how well they did while performing.”
Olivia Davidson (Deck Crew)
Olivia Davidson is in 7th grade She is on our set crew and has helped with set design, costumes, and props. I have been in Guppy Getaway, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, the Pied Piper, They Worshiped Him, The Lions; the Switch; the Warm Robes, and the Ever After the Musical. “I love theatre because of how you get to explore others' personalities while leaving your fears behind.”
Ella Cruz (Deck Crew)
Ella Cruz is in 7th grade and she is in the crew. She was in the crew in last year's play and wanted to do it again!
Audrey Safford (Light Board Operator)
Audrey Safford is a sophomore. I've done lights and crew for one show with Mrs. Abbate, "The Lion, the Switch, and the Warm Robes." I was in a lot of plays in elementary school but I don't act anymore. “I love being involved in theatre because I get to witness the story come to life and because it's nice to bond with the rest of the cast and the crew. I became involved in this show because Little Shop is my favorite musical.”
