But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Greater Waterbury Childrens Theatre

The Greater Waterbury Children’s Theatre was created by Theatre Kids for Theatre Kids! It's mission, is to bring arts and education to the greater Waterbury area as well as spotlight Connecticut based pre-K- Grade 8 age children on stage and in the performing arts through performances, workshops, and other events. The Greater Waterbury Children’s Theatre intends to provide the people of Connecticut not only entertainment, but the opportunity to participate through open auditions for the productions, in addition to the opportunity to join the General Membership, assisting in the shaping and growth of this organization.

Within  a fiscal year the ideal season would contain 1 six performance (Double cast) main production at the end of June with the potential of growth down the line to expand to 2 productions a year. On top of the main productions, we will also feature smaller fundraising/education-based events to raise funds for our season.   Events would include a range of variety shows, cabarets, workshops, and master classes with professional artists. Through this program we will equip kids with the tools, knowledge, and experience of working together as an ensemble on a theatrical piece of work. This teaches teamwork, social skills, and self-confidence, all important things needed to help build their future. Through this company we hope to inspire kids and help them discover the magical world that theatre creates and help the future of young performers thrive.
