Production Stage Manager
Katie Scibelli
Katie is a freelance stage manager & theater technician from Staten Island. Local credits include productions at St. Joseph Hill (‘15), Msgr. Farrell, and with companies In the Wings, Hemlock Theatre, Sundog Theatre, and Ghostlight Players, where she proudly serves on the board as Technical Director. Professionally, she has stage managed numerous straight plays, musicals, experimental operas, workshops, concerts and benefits, with some recent credits including Mano a Mano and mɔɹnɪŋ (morning//mourning) for thingNY, The Matter of the Disappearance of Michael Anthony Smith, Jr. and 73 Seconds for En Garde Arts, Joan of the City for Opera on Tap, and youth homelessness group Covenant House International’s Night of Covenant House Stars annual galas. Katie received a BA in Drama from Vassar College in 2019, where she began working as an Electrician & Lighting Designer and was Manager of the college’s Shakespeare Troupe, President of student theater producing organization Merely Players, and a founding member and later Student Chair of Vassar’s chapter of USITT (the US Institute for Theater Technology). She also has several New York, regional, & virtual credits as an Assistant Scenic Designer & Draftsman, including one Obie-winning/Drama Desk-nominated production. In another life, the Williamson was the first stage she ever stepped foot on as a kid during a short-lived stint in dancing school (Rainbow School of Dance, Loretta O’Hara), and colonial America was the first period of history she was ever a total nerd about – and at the beginning of this life, Gary, James, Bobby, & Nick were in the first show she worked on (Annie, dir. Donna D’Ermilio) – so she is feeling particularly grateful for full-circle moments, the basic human need to connect through storytelling, and the indispensable value of community to keep us going, through all the growing pains this Egg endures. She thanks her entire cast & crew for being rockstars onstage and treasured friends off, the good people of CSI for making this co-production possible in all the minute ways a Tech Director appreciates (& hopes the audience never even thinks about), and Gary and Charles, for more than even she could ever attempt to put into words. The Great Work Continues.
