Stage Manager
Karen Murdock
Karen has been Resident Stage Manager at GCIT for every school year since 2010. That’s a lot of shows, a lot of kids and a lot of graduating classes. She is a former Equity Stage Manager and was a delegate to the Philadelphia Liaison Committee of Actor’s Equity under the direction of Will Stutts and Colleen Dewhurst. Before rising to the level of High School Theatre, (in her opinion, a definate upping the bar), Karen most notably stage managed the Inaugural production of Contemporary Stage Company, starring Lynn Redgrave. Karen has served as Camp Director of Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre Camps for the past 12 years of programs in both theatre and film. Also seen on the other side of the stage, Karen has appeared at various local theatres in the tri-state area in roles ranging from Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd , Desiree in A Little Night Music to Mama Rose in Gypsy. An accomplished vocalist, Karen has a following in several restaurants and clubs in Rehoboth Beach, DE. As always – one of the truest theatrical joys is watching a group of committed, talented, passionate and – yes – dramatic teenagers do what they love best.
