Focus: "The state or quality of having or producing clear visual definition" This concert highlights the intensity, creativity, and growth of the students here at Fairmont Heights. When I think of the word focus I think of an arrow pointing in a direction or the moment when a camera is adjusting its lens. This concert will continue to create a paradigm shift within the culture for dance and the arts in this community where this dance department is at the forefront. The focus is on the students, the focus is on artist growth. The focus is on student exposure to the arts. The focus is on making a name for this department and establishing a legacy. FOCUS.

The Fairmont Height High School's Dance Department was established in 2017 by Ms. Jessica Potts the current dance teacher. 

Students learn the fundamentals of dance through terminology and the practice of dance techniques at a beginning level. A variety of dance forms are offered to range from Ballet, Modern, and Jazz, with various workshops in Hip-Hop and African dance styles. Dance theory is taught through the application of vocabulary, history, beginning principles of choreography, and observation of live and filmed/videotaped performances.
