Stage Director, Assistant Professor of Theatre
Keola Simpson
Keola Simpson is a Native Hawaiian theatre-maker from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, a stage and screen actor in New York City, and an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance at Dickinson College. His 2020 thesis production, I’m Lot Lane (a solo effort), garnered 11 national awards at The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in 2021 including the Citizen Artist Award, David Mark Cohen Playwrighting Award, and Overall Production. Keola spent much of his childhood as a performer and musician, traveling western Canada with his mother's touring Polynesian revue, Ka ʻOhana. He studied Acting at Fullerton College, earned a BA in Directing from California State University, Fullerton (2004), and an MFA in Directing at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

James Martin
James Martin has won critical acclaim and awards for his performances in opera, musical theater, and concert as a versatile singer, actor, and entertainer. Always an audience favorite, his artistic repertoire spans from Bach to be-bop, Busoni to Burleigh, and Berg to Bernstein. He has appeared with leading musical organizations throughout the United States and abroad with frequent collaborator Lynn Raley. James also works as a teaching artist for young people in inner-city programs.

Kent Barrett
Kent Barrett is a multi-disciplinary theatrical designer and artist who has developed a wide-ranging body of work and established a national and international presence on the performance scene. Kent is a former company member with The Wooster Group, an NEA Grant recipient and an instructor at MIT. A prolific technologist, Kent's works have been seen at venues such as The Park Avenue Armory, Harlem Stage, La MaMa, Signature, The Public, The Brooklyn Lyceum, and Lincoln Center as well as internationally. In addition to his work in theater, dance and performance, Kent has also collaborated widely on independent films, art installations, and with various architectural lighting firms.

Matthew Bovee
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Matt is a theater artist based in Brooklyn. He has performed and created for over a decade in NYC. His diverse background in theater, dance and music contribute to an eclectic, multi-disciplinary approach to storytelling, drawing from a broad palette of influences and aesthetics. He was the 2022 Fulbright recipient to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. MA Classical Acting (LAMDA), BA Theatre/Dance (UC San Diego).

Chakra Sokhomsan
Born and raised to Khmer refugee parents, Chakravartin Sokhomsan is an activist, artist, and educator. He carries over ten years of Khmer Classical Dance training under master teachers such as Prumsodun Ok, Charya Burt, and Reaksmey Lath. Now Chakra is an undergrad at Dickinson College pursuing a BA in Dance. During his time at Dickinson, he has worked with Valley Traction, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Dance Theater Group. Through his studies and experience, Chakra hopes to be able to join a dance company and perform/curate work.

Holly Andrew
Holly Andrew is a theater artist, sewist, and musician based in Lancaster, PA. Recent work has been with Three Sheets Theatre, The People’s Shakespeare Project, and Machines In Between; and with bands Featherburn, and Silver Walks. Currently costuming and performing in new work “FOOLish” in Lancaster. Training from Franklin & Marshall, The National Theater Institute, and Shakespeare & Co. Thanks to the Dickinson T&D department for bringing me on board for this project. Let’s make something weird and beautiful.

Caroline Kopas
Caroline Kopas (she/her) is a sophomore International Studies major and Creative Writing minor from Denville, New Jersey. Theatre and Dance highlights at Dickinson include stage managing the Dance portion of Art Walks, Freshworks 2023 and Dinner Party, as well as assistant stage managing Dreamfeed and operating video for The Crucible. She is excited to stage manage Spring Awakening and is thankful to work with such an amazing team, cast, and crew.

Katelyn is a first-year student dual majoring in Environmental Science and law & Policy. She is from Bethlehem Pennsylvania and has been involved in theater for over 7 years. In high school, she stage managed 7 musical productions including Marry Poppins, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, High School Musical, Honk, and more.

Mel Sumner
Mel is a sophomore Archeology and Medieval and Early Modern Studies double-major. At Dickinson they were an assistant stage manager for Art Walk and a sound operator for Dream Feed. They have also worked on numerous events with the Mermaid Players including directing a lab show production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Mel also works with the THDA department as Cubiculo Manager and in the costume shop.

Karen Lordi-Kirkham
Karen Lordi-Kirkham has extensive experience directing in both regional and academic settings. After 8 years as the Executive Artistic Director of Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake, N.Y., she now serves as the coordinator for the Adirondack Theatre Festival and director of the annual touring Shakespeare production for Adirondack Lake Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake. She graduated with a MFA and DFA from the Yale School of Drama, where she was the artistic director of the Yale Summer Cabaret.

Juli Bounds
Juli Bounds has served as Costume Studio Manager at Dickinson College since 2012. She spends her summers working as a First Hand at the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah where most recently she worked on costumes for Emma: The Musical. Juli studied art history and theatre design at the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoys making pom poms and putting googly eyes on things in her spare time.

Jason Nedrow
Jason Nedrow is pleased to continue his 13th year with Dickinson College in the theatre and dance department. Jason has worked as a technical director and scenic carpenter since 1998. He holds a B.A. from Penn State University and a M.L.A. from McDaniel College. Jason is proud to supervise the department scene shop and teach students to focus on creative ways to construct and deconstruct theatre scenery through recycling and keeping materials out of the trash. He lives in Mechanicsburg and has two daughters, Addison and Samantha. Sam is a first year Dickinsonian.
