About The Library

After Caitlin Gabriel survives a deadly shooting at her high school, she struggles to tell her story to her parents, the authorities, and anyone who will listen. But there are other narratives that gain purchase in the media and paint her in a different light. Renowned Hollywood screenwriter Scott Z. Burns returns to the stage with this bold, poignant play that asks us to examine our relationship to the truth and the lies that claim to heal us.

This important, hard-hitting piece of theatre explores how people of all ages deal with tragedy, how the media is quick to anoint a hero and a villain, and how hysteria among a community can shatter reputations when a female survivor of a school shooting is accused of being in on the heinous act. While the show does relate to a sensitive subject matter, the show focuses on the aftermath and how we cope with tragedy rather the event (shooting) itself.
