You Should Be So Lucky by Charles Busch Cast

Bruce Kaplan (Mr. Rosenberg)
Bruce is excited to be performing again with Chanticleers, where he has played Robert in Proof, Nunzio in Over the River and Through the Woods, and several others over the years. Other favorite recent roles include Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, Gloucester in King Lear, Doolittle in Pygmalion, Argan in The Imaginary Invalid, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and the Wizard in Wizard of Oz. On the musical side, he has recently played Buddy Fiedler in City of Angels, Mayor Shinn in The Music Man, and Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors (all at Pinole Community Playhouse). Thanks for supporting community theater!
Scott Dai (Christopher)
Scott is excited to return to Chanticleers alongside the hardest working cast in show business. He’s spent the past year learning how to be an actor again, in The Hollow (Edward Angkatell) at San Leandro Players, Bell, Book, and Candle (Shepherd Henderson) at Chanticleers, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) at One Stage Theatre. Thanks, as always, to Katie, Simon, and Cecily for their love and support, and for the privilege of getting to experience the bountiful good with which they fill his life.
Larissa Kasian (Polly)
This is Larissa's third production with Chanticleers. She was also in Bell, Book, and Candle, and The River Bride. Larissa has also worked with other Bay Area groups including the Alameda Foodbank Players (as Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol), and the mostly sold out runs of The Hollow and The Odd Couple (Female Version) with San Leandro Players. She has quite a bit of experience with improvised theater and has been enjoying honing a different skillset performing in scripted theater.
Joel A.S. Butler (Walter)
Joel is excited to be appearing in his first Chanticleers production with such a great cast and crew. Memorable roles include Maurice in Beauty and the Beast at OneStage, Mo in Miss You Like Hell at City Lights, John Barrymore in I Hate Hamlet with Northside, the Creature in Frankenstein at Broadway West, Joseph Buquet in Phantom of the Opera and Harold Bride in Titanic The Musical with Stage 1. He can also be heard as Bram Stoker and many others on the audio comedy/drama podcast Submitted for the Approval of the Midnight Pals. He thanks his husband for the love and support.
Dawn Cates (Lenore)
Dawn is thrilled to return to Chanticleers and to work with such an amazing cast and crew. It’s always a gift to work with new and dear friends alike. Congratulations, Miranda, on bringing together such a great group of people and making for such an amazing experience. And thank you for the opportunity to be in your Directorial debut! And thanks to you, our patrons, for supporting live theatre! This show is dedicated to Mary and Todd; always in our hearts.
Ellen Yau (Wanda Wang)
Ellen is utterly delighted to be making her acting debut as Wanda Wang in YSBSL at Chanticleers Theatre. She hails from Oakland and is so lucky to have strong back muscles and two kidneys. Offstage, you can find her out exploring the cities and trails of the Bay or staying in reading and tending to her worms. She would like to thank her director, her castmates, and crew for their trust, encouragement, and support. Many hugs and kisses to her friends and family for coming along the ride on all her side quests.
