Mrs. Earle-Rodriguez
Mrs. Rodriguez has taught for 23 years as both a Theatre and Choir Director for MVUSD and also moonlights as an actress in both plays and musicals throughout Southern California. Her favorite roles include the Matron in the Redlands Bowl production of “Hairspray”, Lady Beaconsfield in the Historic California Theatre’s critically acclaimed musical Jekyll & Hyde, and most recently as Camila Rosario in Rialto Community Theatres, In the Heights! Career highlights include Blackstone Magik, Disney Entertainment, and her internship with the Center Theater Group. Mrs. Rodriguez was recognized as the 2018 Teacher of the Year for National History Day California and is an active member of Drama Teachers Association of Southern California and California Educational Theatre Association. Mrs. Rodriguez would like to thank local community theatre groups such as Legendary Productions, Redlands Theatre Festival and Redlands Footlighters for working with CSHS to create opportunities both onstage and off. None of this would possible without her husband, daughters, mother (aka prop crafting queen) and her So Cal family for their morning phone calls, prop shopping, and their undying support for the arts.

Mrs. Smith
Scarlet Smith received her Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Redlands. She also obtained her single subject K-12 music teaching credential from the University of Redlands, School of Education. She spent a semester studying abroad at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. Mrs. Smith has been the Choral Director at Canyon Springs High School since the 2015-2016 school year. Her choirs have performed across Southern California and choir members have participated in many honor choirs, including All Sarte and Nationals. She is an active member of the Southern California Vocal Association, American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education. Smith is also an alumni of the San Bernardino & Riverside County chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. She has performed in Ensemble XXI and the Riverside Master Chorale. She has also guest directed the choir of the Moreno Valley United Methodist Church. Scarlet resides in Riverside with her husband Joey, her golden retriever Libby and her basset hound Ellie Mae.

Mr. Lozano
Christian Lozano graduated from San Diego State University in 2015 where he earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. During his time at San Diego State University, he studied Clarinet. In 2016, he received his Single Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University where he completed his student teaching. Mr. Lozano is currently in his 6th year as Director of Bands at Canyon Springs High School. Under his direction, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band has received Unanimous Superior Ratings at SCSBOA Festivals, the Marching Band qualified for the 2022 SCSBOA 4A Marching Band Championships and won the Class C Division at the 2022 Arcadia Band Review. The Winter Percussion and Guard programs continue to excel including a first-time appearance in the 2019 SCPA Semi-Finals Championships and WGASC Gold Medalists Champions in 2019 and 2022. Notable performances include the 2nd Annual La Sierra University Wind Ensemble Festival and the Wind Ensemble's Performance at the 2023 World Strides National Heritage Festival in San Diego where the group earned a First Place Gold Rating and Outstanding Band Award. Currently, Mr. Lozano performs and assistant conducts with the Moreno Valley Wind Symphony on Bass Clarinet. His professional affiliations include the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, the California Band Directors Association, the California Music Education Association, and the National Association for Music Education.

Amber Aleria
Amber Aleria began her dance studies at age 16. Like many others, she was told that she was too late to begin a career in dance. Amber believed that with the right attitude and dedication, she could rise to the challenge and achieve her dance dreams. Amber performed in numerous productions throughout California, including Bye Bye Birdy, Beauty and the Beast, and Rent. Shortly after college, Amber began teaching and competing in ballroom dance. She managed a ballroom dance studio for four years before starting her own business, Aleria Dance Entertainment. Ruins Rackley
Ruins is a current senior who has been acting since the third grade. In the coming fall he will attend University of Redlands with the goal of becoming a theatre teacher. He has previously acted in the role of Leopold in Luchadora! and has worked on numerous productions as stage crew. Recently he has attended the State History Day Competition and placed in the top 6 of the Individual Performance Category. He is an Honor Thespian, having worked over 600 hours in the theater since his freshman year.

Marie Reeder
Marie Reeder serves as the collaborative pianist for the Canyon Springs High School Choir Program under the direction of fellow Redlands alum Scarlet Smith. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Redlands, as well as a Music Degree & Fine Arts Degree from Riverside City College. In addition to her performance work, she also teaches privately in Downtown Riverside. She lends her time to the University of Redlands Annual Piano Camp and is currently assisting in the development of a music and dance program in San Clemente, CA. In her spare time, Marie enjoys long walks on the beach and spending time with her husband Josh and 2 year old son Henry. [email protected]

Tyler Vegiga - CSHS Alumnus
Tyler Vegiga started performing music at the young age of 8, beginning on the piano. Since then, he expanded his passion for music into other instruments such as saxophone, bassoon, mallet percussion, and even DJing. After graduating high school, he taught mallet percussion at high schools around Southern California including El Dorado, Citrus Hill, Valley View, and his alma mater, Canyon Springs. During his work at Canyon Springs, he helped revitalize the Winter Percussion program to foster the students’ percussion skills outside of the typical marching band season. He also served as a piano accompanist for the CSHS Choir Program. Mr. Vegiga has performed with many organizations such as the RCC Marching Tigers, RCC Indoor Percussion, Pacific Crest, and the Concord Blue Devils. As a member of these ensembles, he performed shows at various venues such as Tanglewood, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Rose Bowl. During his involvement with these groups, he earned World Championship titles in both Drum Corps International (DCI) and Winter Guard International (WGI) along with other percussion accolades. Mr. Vegiga has a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside and is working toward a Master’s Degree in Education along with a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Science. He currently serves as a substitute teacher in MVUSD where he continues developing his teaching pedagogy.

Anthony Castro
Anthony Castro is a driven and accomplished young professional, graduating from Canyon Springs High School's class of 2019. Throughout his time in high school, Anthony discovered a passion for lighting and audio production, and by his sophomore year, he had already founded his own company in the field. Since then, Anthony has been providing high-quality lighting and audio production services to a variety of clients, including the Moreno Valley School District. His work has been praised for its professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail. In addition to his work in production, Anthony has also become a successful realtor, specializing in the Riverside and San Bernardino counties. His hard work and dedication have paid off, with Anthony having closed over $17,000,000 worth of real estate transactions in 2022. Despite his success, Anthony remains humble and committed to his work. He credits his time at Canyon Springs High School for giving him the skills and drive to pursue his dreams, and he is grateful for the opportunity to continue making a positive impact in his community through his work.
